If you're a regular viewer, you'll notice that a lot of these owners are dysfunctional. You can't make people not be that way. They have to make a conscious choice to do better; to be better.

My uncle was always running businesses and, he decided to buy and, open a tavern! My mom eventually took it over! Family gets dysfunctional when, running a business because, it’s a 24/ hr. job 7 days a week, yep, even if they are closed on Sundays, you got to check in on things for Monday!

I don't doubt that some are indeed dysfunctional. But i assume there is also a lot of behind-the-scenes manipulations and editing tricks to make people seem more crazy than they really are. (It's rampant in all reality shows, especially the American ones due to lax media laws and an entertainment landscape geared towards producing conflict-filled content)

Robert Irvine is so cool. I have a lot of respect for him. I love that he tells it like it is but in that process he does not disrespect the staff of restaraunts unlike a certain other famous chef. He is a awesome chef and i think he knows what he is talking about... Its a shame that so many restarauntors do not take to heart what he has to say sometimes. He has a lot of good advice and i wish more chefs would take it to heart. The Wagon Wheel in Delaware and a few others in Delaware did not take his advice and now theyre either failing or closed. Its a darn shame.

I was a volunteer for an episode and cant say enough for Robert. He is very down to earth and a kind man. Short guy and very military styled personality. He always new exactly what was needed and doing. He was kind but ridged on what needed to be done.

Its rare from my understanding that a restaurant actually succeeds. Something like a 70% failure rate. I have grown to enjoy cooking in my retirement, and get better, but would never want the nightmare of owning a restaurant, nor would I be qualified to run one, either from a cooking or management standpoint

Same: i like cooking but i would never want to run a restaurant. Very hard work in an oversatured market with low chances of long-term succes.

“You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make it drink.” Robert Irvine does a great job in a short amount of time, but if the restaurant owners won’t listen, they’ll fail. I’m shocked at how many of these owners have no experience in the restaurant business. The food business is VERY hard!

If only 12 failed he is absurdly successful at fixing restaurants. Especially when 2 of these failures were totally outside their control, dying and being too injured to work don't feel like a restaurant failure. I do assume far more failed as that is just the reality of business.

No surprise about this or Gordon Ramsay's 75% failure rate. There's people out there that if you tell them to do one thing and show them why, they still do the exact opposite and it causes problems. Then there's those that had serious health issues. Some were also too far gone to fix and the pandemic really destroyed the restaurant business. The majority of the ones that failed were usually too far gone to fix and they often went back to their old ways even though it was obvious that they didn't work.

Sounds like most of these failures had nothing to do with the show. I’m amazed at how many “returned to former” practices and menu items before closing. And then just as many fluke accidents, or just loss of interest by the owners. I’d be interested in the opposite video where they show the RI success cases.

It's usually their own fault because they go back to their old ways. The only legit ones here are Rosie's, the lady who retired for her health, and the one where they turned it into catering instead. The rest ran it into the ground themselves for turning it back to their old way.

Failures are unfortunate but how many successes were there? Any? And the pandemic was the cause for so many restaurants closing in 2020. But my heart is with those who experienced physical battles or death. And who paid for those improvements? The network, the program, the owners? Who pays for these things?

Yeah owners go back to old ways, don't keep up standards, pandemic hit, poor service etc and gosh wonder why they failed? Irvine actually teaches them how to run the restaurant but many owners always think they know better and won't follow through (hey why did the ones who did NOT fail work?? oh maybe they FOLLOWED THE RECOMMENDATIONS!!)

As a regular viewer of the show, I find your video title grossly misleading. You cannot fault Robert for some establishments closing down after he leaves. It's up to the owners to honour him with renewed focus of running their restaurants successfully and also working on their relas. There's only so much that Robert and his team can do, the rest is up to the owners. They cannot possibly baby-sit everyone. Please try to be accurate with your titles and analysis.

So you're telling me the restaurants that closed down were due to the owners going back to their old ways and old menus... Yes, chefs have a on your face persona and attitude but there's a reason why they are rich restaurant owners.

The Snooty Fox Restaurant is in Indianapolis, never ate there, in Ohio the SNOOTY FOX is Consignment Shop in Ohio and, Kentucky, they have several locations, I walked by one and never went in! Because, both the restaurant and Consignment Shop looked like they were owned by a bunch of Snooty Foxes! Lol When, I watched the guy from Indianapolis that owned the Snooty Fox Restaurant seemed to do it as a theme restaurant, which leave adults questioning why, because, like let’s be honest who really eats a fox? Duh, it doesn’t make sense! The guy who owned it seemed to have some smarts about him but, when, people own restaurants, their imagination tends to go a bit far off the beaten path!

This is the same results when some one inherited money by lotto, or death. It will give a boost temporarily and then due to Behavioral Habits it is gone and the person is left just as they were before or a lot worst. It is on average 18 to 22 months for those who lost the financial gift the tool money can bring to be gone. Those who use it as a tool will succeed. Notice in the examples it is only when they went of the plan. For the few that died or had illness or other that was not fair to have them added to the video. Those were uncontrollable scenarios.

Four years ago in Spring or Summer 2019. I had the most craziest scary dream. I dreamed that Chef Rob Irvine and his ex wife had a terrible intense argument in a parking garage. They walked away in a huff. Then in the dream Chef Rob Irvines ex wife started running away as fast as possible. Then Irvine got in a minivan like the ones on Restaurant Impossible. He had this ugly evil scary look on his face 😈. He got in the vehicle and started driving fast and when he caught up to his ex-wife. He struck her with the vehicle and she fell to the ground unconscious and had to be taken to the hospital. OMG that dream was scary to death😱.
