What are your thoughts on Irvine and Restaurant: Impossible?

I think he o.d.'s on roids to get buff cuz he's an ugly loudmouth. There is no gym for your face or personality. But then again, I'm drunk late at night Talkin smack and I don't personally know the guy. Still, I think he's a massive douche.

I got a chance to work with him on two Restaurant Impossible shows (and many other projects over the years since working on RI), and I think you treated him pretty unfairly. The tone of this piece is extremely harsh, and your language toward him is just plain mean spirited. I wish you would have focused more on the help and successes he has had, but then, you wouldn't be tabloid journalism if you did. Chef Robert really tried hard to help the people during the filming of Restaurant Impossible, but the thing to remember with all of this is, he was coming in at the last minute to save people and their restaurants before they went under and the people lost everything. If you can save 1 out of 100, it is totally worth that effort on a human level. The show is slated to return soon on the food network. Chef Irvine has a foundation (Robert Irvine Foundation) that gives 100% of every penny earned to Military Members, Veterans, 1st Responders and their Families. He pays all of the administrative costs out of his own pocket, and when he does live event shows (Robert Irvine Live Shows), he does not take a paycheck for them. He gives all that money to pay for the foundation. Not only that, but he often gives up his personal and holiday time to visit the US Military troops across the country and those deployed overseas with USO shows. When North Korea was shooting missiles over Japan and tensions were high between North Korea, South Korea and the USA, Chef Irvine, his wife Gail, the USO, and many Military Chefs were in South Korea visiting our troops and feeding them. He has done a lot for the members of US Military. Say all the bad things you want about the man, I think he has more than made up for things in the past, and continues to do a lot for many people. Especially for Veterans, Active Duty Military and their families.

@@Dark-tx9nx What you see is what you get. He yells at people because he doesn't have time to be polite. It's really 2 days and really $10k, and Tom and the designers work all night. DL Lambert The thing about Bar Rescue is, though... they have access to far more than $10,000 an episode. Taffer and his corporate backers dropped almost $1M on LA Brew Co., but the owners simply didn’t use the expensive equipment they gave them. That rescue included an automatic brewing system with preprogrammed recipes... which they never even turned on. That illustrates that changing people’s attitudes towards failure is harder than it appears

seriously. Same with Kitchen Nightmare. Sure, many of those restaurants closed, but statistically far more stayed open than the normal success rate for restaurants. Typically, over 80% of new restaurants close with their first year. These shows get around 60% of them close regardless of the revamping and reopening. All in all, it's good drama and decent results. One of the shows from RI happened in my town, and that place is still open (new owners, but they sold it at a profit and the look and menu is the same as it was when they sold it)

I will never forget the DINNER IMPOSSIBLE episode where Robert Irvine and his Kitchen Crew where preparing a meal at Dylan's Candy Bar (owed by Dylan Lauren, Ralph Lauren's daughter). He was on the 2nd floor. His Assistant was outside grilling chicken. Since his Assistant cannot hear him, he banged on the huge glass windows and signaled a chicken dance to warn that the chicken was burning. It was so funny to see a huge man somewhat play Charades acting out like a chicken.

This is entertainment. The number of restaurants that fail in 3-5 years is 75%. If you don't go into the business without knowing exactly what the costs, the demographics and a good menu, then, you will fail. People without experience in the F&B have very little chance at success. Nice paint, new chairs and updated interiors won't fix a flawed business model.

Like Kitchen nightmares it’s not Roberts fault if the restaurants fail. So many have already made bad mistakes they’re beyond help…it’s too late. Regarding some of his “exaggerations” I know he has a restaurant in the pentagon that serves military personnel and other officials could he have also served a president or two? It’s possible…also the restaurant of his that closed it closed during Covid….many restaurants closed during Covid which is why he did a series that focused on helping restaurants during Covid that were struggling. I don’t see that as a failure even Gordon Ramsey had a restaurant that failed and has lost Mitchlen stars to some of his restaurants (they’re a bunch of requirements and paperwork that has to be kept up to keep the stars) and I don’t see him as a failure either. He really cares for military personnel and has a foundation to help them and I appreciate that.
@Msoja8
@Msoja8 2 ай бұрын
But you cannot blame Robert and his team for some establishments closing. It's all up to the owners. Robert gives the tools, and the owners must use them effectively, productively and profitably. There are many things that Robert cannot change and the food business is like any other, laden with challenges. Having aired for 13 seasons, and as you admittedly stated, the show enjoyed high ratings and was very popular with viewers, it was a successful show from this perspective.

It's all up to the people,,if Irvine does the job to assist you getting your place up and running correctly then after he leaves it's the owners jobs to take what they've learned and make it happen,,alot of people just think if the place gets remodeled the customers will just keep coming,,you as the owner have to work your butt off to make it work from there and in most cases they don't. And going back to the old way that got them in trouble to begin with is what usually causes it.

Obviously this video is more scripted than any of the RI shows. You obviously never watched the show or know how things work. I'll give you 2 examples of you missing the boat. 1) the guy that said customers preferred frozen pasta is lying and doesn't want to do the work involved with fresh pasta 2) even though it's called Ambush, they still know he's coming, they just don't know when. You'd never get show producers or network lawyers to sign off on not having the owners permission and just barge in. It's called TV for a reason and lots of stuff behind the scenes. Instead you piece together this crap to try and get some views. Any owner that made changes after RI visit didn't give it a chance and reverted to old lazy ways. The restaurant industry is really hard and requires a lot of work. Hence all these people Robert tries to help and have never run a restaurant, probably some never a business at all. They were doomed regardless. Also remember, when the cameras turn off the owners will always think they know best even when failing

He is a looser ! Lied about working at White House . He has had several restaurants here on Hilton Head S.C. and both failed . One restaurant had a extremely large portrait of him as you walk in over the hostess desk . He is so full of himself 😂😂😂😂
