Nice video. I always believed that the regular job kept me alive. The things that I did with my time off got me ahead(restoring cars, building a house, etc). You gave people a realistic idea for what they can expect to make. Have fun. Give Claude a belly rub for me. Good Luck, Rick
@AudreyAdventures2 жыл бұрын
Thank you, Rick! I agree completely with you. My "regular" job pays my bills, but doesn't get me ahead much beyond that, especially living in a pricy area. The side gigs are a big help in that regard, and help me to invest and adventure. Plus, I'm not good at being idle so they help me with that as well hehe. I will definitely give Claude a belly rub for you - he will love it!

Would I be out of line recommending Audrey and Ibex start an unboxing series for hiking gear?. They would get 5k views unboxing a bic lighter for heavens' sake. Perhaps start with something inexpensive like spoons, cups, stoves, stuff sacks, freeze-dried meals, fire starters, just to prove out the number of views. Ohhh, and the more camouflage the two of you wear, the better. Guys love that, and it adds authenticity to the video. Something to think about? You know I'm going to watch for sure. 🇺🇲
@AudreyAdventures2 жыл бұрын
Haha not out of line at all! I’ve never gotten into the unboxing videos but I know some people love them! Maybe I will try that next time I get a new piece of gear. Hmmmm I have a camo dress and a camo shirt so maybe I should utilize those more. 😜

Oh my gosh, Mike. Thank you so much!!! I have considered Patreon but I think I would have a hard time making more content for that at this stage....

You're welcome! And thanks for the compliment! My channel is still pretty young as far as KZbin goes, so hopefully that number goes up over time. I'd love for it to help fund my next big thru-hike. Congratulations on your hike!!

Awesome! I started my channel for pretty much the same reasons. KZbin is my go to for referencing all the things! I have a fun goal to make $1000 from KZbin. So far I am at zero lol! Based in Manitoba, I havent done any of the big, huge, popular trails so I dont think I get found in a ton of trail searches. It's still tons of fun to make the videos tho! Oddly enough my hiking videos do waaaaay better than my scuba videos! I would have thought the opposite! I'm currently halfway through your CT videos and loving them! Thanks!
@AudreyAdventures Жыл бұрын
Thanks so much - glad you're enjoying the videos! I'm not surprised that your hiking videos do better than SCUBA - there are way more people out hiking than diving! It's much more accessible since diving is a fairly expensive hobby. I definitely think you can make $1,000 on KZbin if you keep up with it! It really didn't take me that long in the grand scheme of things - under two years of being on KZbin - and I haven't had a single video blow up or anything.

Been enjoying your content for a good while now... You experience being grounded in the DMV area for a bit(local to me) and your enthusiasm drew me to subscribe. Even your outdoor "crutch" list/videos you always have a few curve balls and it's refreshing...

Great video Audrey. It’s so interesting to hear your how this has worked for you. While statistics are not my strong point it really shows that you are underpaid for the content you put out, LOL. I know it takes a lot of effort and time and it is certainly appreciated. Us hiking veggies need to stick together…. I can see why AT videos would be popular as some of my favorites to watch. Thanks and happy trails.🤘🏻🥾⛰️
@AudreyAdventures2 жыл бұрын
Haha! Definitely underpaid so far but hoping the hard work eventually pays off. They said KZbin is a slow burn - it takes a long time to pick up steam. But I really enjoy it so I’m gonna keep at it. 😄

Your channel defeatedly deserves more subscribers. It would be fantastic if you could turn it into a full-time jig. However, from a completely selfish point of view I kind of hope You never get so many that it becomes unrealistic for You to respond to every comment. That is one of the things that really makes your channel enjoyable. Your fun personality certainly helps also. Looking forward to whatever You post this year.
@AudreyAdventures2 жыл бұрын
Thank you, Kenneth! That's really nice of you to say, and I appreciate all of the support. When I started my channel, I watched a lot of videos on how to do it, and all the "experts" said that KZbin is a slow burn and takes time to get traction, more so than other platforms. So I expected that. And that's okay, because I've found that I absolutely love KZbin. It's my favorite social media platform now! I wish I would have started years earlier. But alas, I did start eventually! And though my numbers may not be huge, my subscribers are so dang kind and supportive. I really feel like y'all care, which is just the most amazing thing. Hopefully my continues to grow as long as I continue to post, which I plan to do! And if so, I could never forget about my OG subscribers! :)

"Summer slowdown" is a well known term in online sales.
@AudreyAdventures Жыл бұрын
Oh I’ve never heard that before
@tvtoms Жыл бұрын
@@AudreyAdventures Yeah just the obvious reason I guess that in areas that generate sales the most, it's summer and people do outdoor activities. I did a lot of affiliate marketing in the early 2000's and it was just a "thing".
