Loved this video. Such a cool place. You wouldn't think it would be that warm at high elevation. Enjoy.!!!

Beautiful video. I chuckled at your talking about the waffles. The big thing from the 1964 and 1965 NY Worlds' Fair was the Belgium Waffles. Everybody thought that they were wonderful. The waffles were $1 while Shaefer draft beers were 25 cents. I was only 12 but, big so, the Shaefer Beer Gardens served me. We only got to go to the Fair once each year but it was a great day. The DOW Chemical Pavilion convinced me that I wanted to be an engineer. You earned those scenes. Happy Trails. Good Luck, Rick

Hehe that waffle was DELICIOUS! But would have been better if it only cost $1. ;) That's hilarious they served you at 12! How tall were you then? That fair sounds like so much fun!

@@AudreyAdventures I was probably 5' 8". The legal drinking age was 18 at that time in NY. I was allowed to drink beer at home when we had beef for dinner. My Dad's grandfather had a brewery in the little Germany section of Manhattan. He was gone by the time I was born but beer was a family tradition. The 64 & 65 NY Worlds Fair was amazing but, it was not a financial success nor was the Freedom Land Amusement Park that was running at the same time(it was off I-95 closer to CT). The World's Fair premired the 1965 Mustang, the Chrysler Turbine car and many predictions for the future. It was a very memorble for me. Good Luck, Rick

Great video. I really love seeing those open hiking areas. It's mainly just forest in my parts which is great but I'd love open stuff like this, too! The waffles looked amazing! I'm hungry now LOL.

The waffle was absolutely amazing! 😁 Where are you from? I love the forests too! I frequently think the towns out this way don’t have enough trees. 😂

Looks like you guys were just there a couple of days before I was on the trail. I can attest to the heat up there this year! It was hot hiking! I did the trail Aug 5th-9th! I stayed at Marion Lake, Alaska Basin, Cascade NF, and Holly Lake. Such a great trail! Cheers! ✌

Ah yes you were just behind us! We hiked August 2 to 4 and camped at the Jenny Lake Campground the 4 to 5.

Looks incredible. Another one to add to my list. So many trails so little time and money… lol. Would love to see how you attach your accessories to your Mariposa. Happy trails.🤟🏻🥾🏔

Haha I feel the same way. Trying to squeeze in as many as I can! How was Moosilauke btw? Which accessories do you mean?
@susietopspin3 ай бұрын
@@AudreyAdventures for accessories I mean the shoulder strap pouch. I wish there were more attachment points. Moosilauke was amazing. We were blessed to have good weather. I’ve never seen views like it. My mountain peak app wasn’t great though. I’m sure I’m not using it right 😂

@@susietopspin Oh gotcha! I don't think I've quite got the shoulder pouch down yet (I just got it before this hike because I never know where to put my sunglasses). I was originally putting it on the right side but my braid kept getting caught in the zipper and it was driving me nuts, so I've switched to the left side but am finding it a little high so I've got some more playing around to do I think. That's great! I just love Moosilauke. I've been twice and was blessed with blue skies both times. Glad you had the same! What app was it?

Well hello “GLOW STICK” !! I actually had that trail as an alternative to my upcoming hike on the Grand Sawtooth Loop n October. Still not sure I will be hiking the Sawtooth this year due to the Wapiti Fire has it closed. I did discover the Teton Creat Trail is not a good time in October. So now I may be doing the AT LASH. So good to see you as always. Looking great. ❤Happy Trails Audrey.

Beautiful day 1. Thanks for sharing it! How many camping permits per day are available? I wonder how crowed that is. I also love your outfit. What brands are your hoodie and cap?
@AudreyAdventures3 ай бұрын
Thank you! I’m not sure how many permits they give out per day. I think it probably depends on the camping zone and how much camping is available there. The hoodie is Outdoor Research (echo sun hoodie) and the hat is Katherine Homes.

Thanks for making these informative videos. The trail looks beautiful! I have done some backpacking on the AT but next year want to plan a section of the PCT in Oregon. Have you hiked any of that or plan to? We hiked the AT in Maine this past June and the heat was awful. Glad you are living your dream!
@AudreyAdventures3 ай бұрын
Oh gosh sorry to hear about the heat in Maine! I was back east (in western NY) in late June visiting family in mid-May and late-June/ early July and it was super hot there too. Seemed like a sweltering summer everywhere. I haven’t done any PCT in Oregon yet - just the JMT section in California. I’m actually trying to hike the PCT next year but only if I can get a leave from work and I’m still waiting to hear about that. 😊
