Thanks for being the first KZbin I've seen to talk about this stuff. I have another question, which is what I was actually searching for: why are KZbinrs so obsessed about subscriptions? Superficially it's obvious: it should equate to regular viewing. But that can't be the whole story. Lots of KZbinrs brandish statistics showing that 80% of viewers for their last video weren't subscribers; and sending us all on a guilt trip for not subscribing. I find it particularly strange when they have 10x more subscribers than views, which shows that they barely even engage most of their own subscribers to watch their videos. There must be some commercial reason, and I'd love to know what it is.

another reason the scentbird video did very well in revenue is because it had a “business/financial” related niche which always gets a higher cpm than almost any other niche on youtube since those viewers are more likely to click the business related ad or purchase a certain product that interest them.

Sandra Quantin relax. It doesn’t compare to a 9-5 hour job dealing with annoying customers. They have their own schedule they do whatever they want and they get paid for uploading and editing. It’s not rocket science

@@Ariv002 haha right you clearly have no idea of the life of a KZbinr and think it's all glam and brunches. It's cool, but it's wrong. With a 9-5 job we leave at 5 and don't even think about work until the next morning. These guys have to prepare the videos, set up the filling space, shoot the video, watch it, shoot it 2,3 ever 4 times again if the other videos weren't good enough, add that to over an hour in editing, all this for free. After they post their videos they have to read and reply to comments. If the video is demonetised for some reason, all the above has been done for no money at all. Imagine the time spent when KZbinr upload 2-4 times a week. Their working days usually start at 7 and finish at 11pm. But cool for you to think that "they work their own hours".
