Great video Pete! Number one rule for all those complaining about fees. Ebay provides you with an international market, something that was not possible just a decade or two ago. You can take this to any level you want. Sell one item for 100.00 profit per week or 100 items per week. A single mom can pay her electric bill or car note with the profits every month or you can make it into a six figure + full time income. But don't complain about fees! The profit is in the "buy". Simply make sure you are buying cheap enough to cover the ebay and shipping fees.

ATTN newbies, dont do shipping this way. Pete is a highly trained pro and is able estimate due to experience. Make sure you have a box first, then enter the info in the system. There is a size threshold that will send you into a different price structure.

Top name products always bring a good price. As long as you can test them 100% before buying them. And you can make a small investment for a good return. On vintage equipment I will only do them on a auction. Starting price on my auction stuff is price paid + $50.00 and shipping costs(When I know that the product will bring good money). On more modern stuff like those 301's I would just double what I paid plus shipping for a quick buy it now sale. Also I state that my shipping prices are a little higher then others because I over pack the product to assure damage free shipping. I sell a lot of vintage audio gear, and Snap On, Mac, Matco, & Cornwell tools on Ebay.

Lets just hope that your customer on the other side of the world doesn't start a return saying that "the speakers make a crackling sound". It just happened to me on a sound bar i shipped through GSP to Canada. The cheapest estimate I found to ship the $59 speaker back to me was $60. Seller is required to buy return shipping and not through a convenient drop down menu either. You have to manually type in the address on each individual shippers website. Never again. Anyways, Pete, I love your style and I am continually impressed with the content you create.

I bought a pair of Redwood lawn chairs for $5 bones recently. I need to get them listed soon because lawn chairs don't sell too well in the winter. Nice Bose flip! I have an Acoustic Wave taking up space and need to get that piece listed and get paid. You can't go wrong with Bose! If you ever find the bose sound dock, (the one you hook the ipod into) you can now get a bluetooth plug in adaptor for them and run them off your computer or smartphone for big banging sound.

Hi Pete! Great video for those who don't know much about this business, I just wanted to share how much money I made on eBay dumpster diving!$$$$! Mostly car parts , yes broken car parts* I found a broken Lamborghini rear bumper and sold $1250 in 1 hour . Now that's profit!! Sold many one like that from high end cars like Tesla Bentley Porsche and so on. Like you said if you know what to look for you'll find it ! ✌️Cheers

I like the message this video is sending. I just wish eBay wasn't such a scumbag company. This item will be repackaged in Kentucky, and will most likely have a higher chance of being damaged during transportation. Also, the package has to not get damaged/stolen/reported as not as described or received for this sale to work. Finally, the buyer has to not issue a charge back within 180 days of sale. I also understand that you have a receipt, so if anything goes wrong you can claim it as a loss on your taxes. This is really the most important portion of the video because it's a safeguard against loss. I think anyone watching this video could get the wrong idea and drop a fifty dollar bill on something and then lose out. Having some record of sale is crucial when engaging in reselling because when sales do go sour at least you can recover your initial investment in some capacity.

You will make almost the same profit selling them locally because then you wouldn't have to pay any shipping fees. Plus eBay and PayPal wouldn't have there hands in your pockets. It may take a little longer then a day but there bose speakers do they'll sale within a week.

There are definitely certain products that just sell, flat out, every time. It isn't safe to assume that evrything is like this. I purchased a lot of very nice, brand new security cameras a while back. Looking at sold listings, I was positive I would make a hefty profit - but the market is so flooded with them that I am now having trouble breaking even. It was a product I was not familiar with, and I took a chance on it. Now in the future I will be wary of such things. All learning opportunities. Thanks for the video!

Good video but I disagree with flat rate shipping on a bulkier item like this. I'd rather use calculated shipping to discourage someone the other side of the country from purchasing the item and encourage someone closer, because if they do a NAD return you would be out a lot less shipping to someone just a state over from you as opposed to someplace like CA or FL.

Joe H I do flat rate but I price it as if the person does live across the country.
@nathan_sweet
@nathan_sweet 7 жыл бұрын
The problem with doing that is if someone claims INAD or Defective and returns it you lose out on the initial shipping that you paid to send it and have to pay return shipping. Joe's suggestion helps deter people that live far away from buying it making potential losses on shipping much lower on bulky items.

I would NOT recommend the $1 a pound shipping guide Pete uses unless centrally located in USA like he is. If you're on the east coast and have to ship to California, those speakers would have cost about twice that much to ship than the $35 he charged

Hi, Pete. Can you please make a video on how you do your taxes. How do you track and organize all your paper stuff. For example: Do you just toss all your goodwill receipts in a shoe box and add them up at the end of the year? or do you actually attach every receipt of how much you bought something for to a receipt of how much you sold something for. Guys please like this so Pete can see it. Thank you for your good content.

Hello Pete, Thank you so much for all your Great Videos...... I have some questions. Where do you usually pick up your Vintage Electronics for reselling? If your Bose Speakers had some minor physical damages, are you going to still buy them? How do you usually get some discounts for buying the speakers at the Thrift Store and UPS shipping? Where can I find the discount coupons for Thrift Stores? I am really very new to reselling and I am just starting to learn about reselling from your KZbin-Videos and also from your group such as "Golden Finger Picker", & "Hart Picker". I am sorry about my dumb questions. I hope you'd answer my questions and looking forward to keep learning from you more.... Thank you so much!!!!

True, considering you box the item up and put the dimensions and weight in before placing the add. Sometimes I have bulky items that need double boxing and I just guesstimate the shipping as it would take up too much room boxed up. On those instances , be it Murphys law or whatever, they always end up going to Cali :)

For example I went to an estate sale and yes I can plug in a stereo or turn table but how can I test the reel to reels or cassette models, or even speakers? What if you see a good deal on Craigslist how do you test stereo stuff then? Thanks Hope to see you in your shop soon
