An interesting consequence in this design is that when playing both sides the card played is a Wizard Action Lightning Instant, making Negate (Aetherize) effects much better.

Some of my favorite TCG cards have been split cards like Fire // Ice for example. I actually like them adding this but I get the criticism that they are copying MTG to a degree when doing this.

Do you reveal both sides when fusing or just the talented side? They've already shown two oscillio cards with the name "shock" but i guess this will only matter if they print two playable shock cards with the same color

@@finlamor yes, you play the card down and announce which of the two sides you're using. The card is visible, however.

A split card that you are inclined to tip sideways to read is not really a good idea. Oops, I just tilted the card sideways, now my opponent thinks it must be a split card. Now I have to always tip cards sideways to keep my opponent guessing. Any card could be a split card. It's already not good that this set excludes ninjas, warriors, brutes, guardians, rangers, mechanologists, and assassins (think Bright Lights), but adding a potentially confusing unpopular split card design from MTG at the same time will possibly not be well received.

right to left is weird, it would be more intuitive if it was left to right.

Not a wizard or runeblade player, but with the meld cards the left side says action but the right side says it is an instant. Wouldn't Aether Wildfire only affect the action portion of the card if you meld both sides since it mentions only action cards?

@@DMArmada Ok I know you can just activate the right side by itself as an instant, but that gets confusing when you activate both that it changes to be just an action even though both triggers happen seperately. It would make more sense to me if it was just 2 spells combined into one like an instant followed by an action.

@@tam-ka-blam9736 when you mailed it, think of it like you're playing a singular card that has its first effect activating it instant speed. It is still classified as an action card however

Not really a fan of the card layout as it obviously feels too much of a straight MTG ripoff. Also not a fan of how confusing it is, but maybe I’m just old and dumb😅.

yeah just like when it was done in MTG, I made an already at times filled card with text even smaller and just lose any flavour image, a bad idea copied allas
