I remember waiting for the Charlie Brown Christmas special and How The Grinch Stole Christmas (the original cartoon) to show up in the TV guide, and all of the variety Christmas shows. Having a fire in the fireplace while we sang along and made ornaments was such a treat!

I still send out Christmas cards at 72. We actually had Christmas carolers at our apartment complex last year.

I remember doing some of these..I'm an only child, so I didn't grow up with any sisters or brothers. My parents made Christmas special. The house was decorated so beautiful and I always helped decorating the tree. Christmas eve we left all the lights on all night. We made cookies for Santa and left out snacks for the reindeer. I always tried to sneak down the hall, trying to catch Santa, but I never did! After I had my child, I carried on the same traditions during our Christmas. Always remembered Christ during this season! He is the reason we celebrate!

I miss the Sears wish book. I remember doing popcorn strands one year and it was a labor of love. Same with tinsel. I put so much effort into making sure it was even all over the tree.

Both sets of grandparents went to the same church so it was common for both sets to be at our house for holidays. The Christmas I was 7 and turned 8 in Jan. I got a dollhouse for my "big" present. My grandfathers buit it together from blueprints my mother ordered from an advert in the newspaper. It is one of my most treasued possessions.

Wow! That sounds like a treasured gift. A sister of a friend had something similar too, and her grandma sewed all the fabric in it.

Sears, Penney's, Wards, and various other stores had Christmas catalogs. Yes, hours were spent over them. Looking online just isn't the same.

Haven't done tinsel on the tree in maybe 20 years. Will have to try it again one Christmas.

We did the popcorn string on the tree. And our dog will eat it off the tree. That dog loved popcorn.

Cute! Our dog wouldn’t go near the tree, I think we must’ve only bought the pokey kind.

Yup. The nice people were with the nice people. No internet to constantly shove bad people in your face. They were outliars. Shut off the phone and seek out actual nice people. Much better.

Boy I hate these AI videos. Like maybe 10% of the clips matched what the AI narrator was talking about. It wouldn't be so bad if the creator cared about the topic and actually went back in to find clips that matched. The worst section was talking about hand-made ornaments with lots of video of Hallmark ornaments. I am seeing more and more of these on brand new channels. Hopefully these aren't a bunch of chinese trying to steal KZbin dollars. I love Christmas and would have loved to see an honest video about this topic, great topic idea, bad AI video.

Understandable, I’ll take your suggestion to heart. This video may have been a bit rushed. I’ll slow down and try to enjoy the process next time. Still getting my bearings with this KZbin thing. Thanks for watching anyways.

@@WayBackAmericana Very Glad to see that you replied to the comment and I would love to see you become successful. We all deserve that. Here are some tips. Doing KZbin is a long haul process, if you don't plan on spending a lot of time and it taking a long time you will fail in the end. People like to see interesting topics, but there are tons of videos on KZbin doing that, so lots of competition. If you want to stand out from the crowd you have to do things right and do them differently so that you stand out. So, don't trust the AI too much, it is still to early to be getting consistently good results. Make sure that what your script says actually matches what is show on the screen, that is just a given. People won't come back to channels that make big mistakes like that. Then if you want to use AI to speed things up, go ahead, just take the next step and manually edit the video after getting the AI version as the AI version will probably be wrong. I have managed to get over 76,000 subscribers partly because my videos are accurate. People trust that they can come to my channel and get correct information, that means I get subscribers. I know that there are some popular channels out there that claim you can get monetized in only 1 month with 30 videos. Unless you are real lucky that never happens. If you work hard you can get monetized in about 6 months with a lot of good videos (no mistakes in the videos). For my first channel it took me 5 years to get monetized, with everything I now know it is about 6 months if I focus on it. And, here is the big take away, KZbin pays almost nothing. You will have to find some other way to make money, use the KZbin videos to drive traffic to your other income source. I could go on forever, but I will stop here. Feel free to ask questions and I will give you my best advice.

Wow! First of all, wow, thanks for such a lengthy and informative response. This space often feels like I’m talking into a void, but interactions like this remind me of why I started. It’s true I had in mind to move quickly, get to that monetization as fast as possible. I was originally uploading just once per week, but one video went really well so I tried to ride it out to keep the KZbin angels in my favor. Once I get those last few subscribers and reach 1,000 I‘ll be able to relax. It’ll be nice to reach the goal. Anyways,. to work for 6 years on KZbin is a real feat, your experience is gold. If you don’t mind sending me an email maybe we could exchange more there? Thanks again for your words and tips. It really helps.
