My God this is a dream build. I was just GIVEN a mint 1986 regal with a 307 v8 from a old couple I do landscaping for. They signed the title over and said thank you for helping us. It's been garage kept and has 36k original miles. Runs perfect and has cold ac. Car is amazing factory but it's sooooo slow! Hopefully one day I can afford to do a ls swap and some decent wheels and tires. Everything is so expensive now days just to live it's hard for me to justify spending the money when I have a child to take care of right now. Beautiful work yall doing. I'm enjoying the channel

Wow! You weren't kidding about going in a more serious direction with the channel. This is like 2 orders of magnitude better quality! Camera work, transitions, music, and audio levels are on point! If you keep up the work, it's gonna blow up!

Very nice. You should consider notching the rear frame rails to make clearance for wider rear wheels/tires.

My 1986 Buick Regal Limited had a 307 V8 with 140 hp. Overall it was a great car for a long trip. It was comfortable, got decent mpg, had a huge trunk, and a decent sound system. It only cost $13,900.00 new. It really lacked power and had a lot of minor issues.

What kind of headers are those and where did u buy them
@johndelta004 жыл бұрын
The g body chassis truly dates back to 78 although it was marketed as the A body it was basically the same chassis.
@charleshayes27294 жыл бұрын
A body for the first year only
@evanpimental2 жыл бұрын
A body was 1978-80. Even Wikipedia mislabeled it as 78-81 but if you look at the 81 cutlass it's the same as all of the 80s cutlasses aside from 1980. I owned an 81. For sure g body. G Bodies are 3 inches longer than A bodies.

Nice work on the frame and the photograph. I have two questions did you coat inside of the boxed portion and was there a cost savings my not buying a new rolling chassis.
@DanielLopez-me9mh Жыл бұрын
Yup GM used the A and the G body with the same chassis and underpinnings they did that for cutting manufacturing cost noticed that the pontiac grand prix door shares the same doors with the Monte Carlo and the Oldsmobile cutlass supreme door is the same as the Buick regal love those cars

They actually made G Bodies from 81 to 87, cars titled as 1988s were 1987s that sold in 88. Nary a G Body was manufactured in the year of nineteen hundred and eighty eight.

Can you elaborate on the frame stiffing? Did you weld over all that paint you put on the frame? Did you get any distortion that made the body mounts not line up? Any tips you can give about your welding process? Did that frame kit add sufficient stiffness? Are you using solid metal body mounts? What kind of paint was the silver you put on and then the black? Why brush it on (looks ugly brushed) and not spray? What UMI components did you use? Did you use an UMI rear frame brace? Did you use a brace for the front frame fork? You did not put any details in the description and your website does not elaborate on this build.
