Dude, he plays like how I played during my first playthrough…when I was 10. ‘Get a fast car and get to the starting grid!’ Phil: drives some of the slowest cars in the game directly to the starting grid without even trying to look for something better. Even I knew to go to the dealership - it’s right by the phonebooth you start the mission from - and grab the Banshee.

He doesn't verify tips anymore (which gives cred to this) and he has been very desperate since the move from Twitch despite making roughly the same amount here as he did there. Phil isn't the sharpest tool in the shed, but he is capable of realizing the place he'll be at if something happens to those contributors.

"I'm never catching up even though I wrecked them all at the beginning!" Good to see his "racing strategy" still has never changed. He sucks so bad at racing games/racing segments that he always tries to make the AI crash instead of just beating them by being better. He's deathly afraid of knowing that he sucks and I've seen him reset multiple races when he wasn't able to destroy the AI's car right off the line, usually bitching about how it's "not fair" that the AI survived his attempt at sabotage, like wrecking the opponent is how you're supposed to play for some reason.

Dave just gets worse and insists on wrecking cars because he refuses to do anything else. He wants the game to be easy, and to him, the easiest thing to do is wreck the competition so he has nothing to worry about. He will reset a race for 4 hours straight just to get the scenario to work a single time.

Now to be fair to Phil, the traffic density of DE is far higher than other versions of the game but that doesn't excuse how he manages to hit every fucking car then go 'Every car drives into me!' and his choice of car is also poor, like the Mafia Sentinel makes sense but he goes for the Idaho for his second try when everyone knows that there's a Banshee inside the car dealership or the Diablo Stallion which is also one of the fastest cars you can get at that point in the game. It's his 3rd playthrough and he somehow doesn't know this shit and it amazes me.

To this day he still talks about how that Wolverine toy haunts him. It's so bad, in fact, that you can go back and see other playthroughs of previous versions (or in Dark Souls' case, "redemption runs") and find him making the exact same errors, the exact same "jokes," and the exact same excuses. He just flat refuses to learn.

I learned that little trick from that VERY section of GTA3 like 25 years ago and added it to my own repertoire for instances where I needed to destroy moving vehicles. Shotguns do it pretty efficiently. Evidently, even though he played through the original version of this game not too long ago on stream, Phil still doesn't have a clue. Not trying to make the editing process longer for these but please consider throwing in screenshots from some comments on Phil's playthrough vids as he's not blocking those anymore. TIHYDPs in the past would have these before he turned them off and always provided a vibe to these videos they haven't been able to have since.
