Great Mama Jagras I just know that there were quite a few game-breaking bugs that appeared in the HD collection that weren't even in the original releases. I heard they lost most of the code for the two games and had to rebuild the games from scratch which was probably why there were so many mistakes included in this one (which led to this sorry excuse of a "HD collection)

Because konami are so far up their asses, all they see is bullshit. They got rid of Kojima, remember? They've neglected Castlevania too, not just MGS. Although, Richter and Simon Belmont as well as Solid Snake do show up in Smash Bros Ultimate. But I agree. Silent Hill fans should get RE remake style and level games. It's not right that only RE fans get to enjoy remastered and fully, from the ground up remakes. Speaking as a fan of the RE series myself, I do agree. I was looking forward to playing the new Silent Hills game before it got cancelled. And, I wanted to play the Silent Hill 2 & 3 HD Collection, but literally everyone in the world hates that, so I avoided those too. I'm sorry Silent Hill fans keep getting the shaft. Maybe one day, konami will get their heads out of their asses. But, it doesn't seem likely, sorry, dude/lady.

At 2:27:00 it's possible that Johnny is a reference to The Shining. In the original story (the novel), the Overlook Hotel explodes when the boiler isn't dumped. In the more recent film, it remains as an illusion I think, similar to in SH2. There's a parallel here between the Overlook and this hotel. Further, it's known that the works of Stephen King partially inspired the Silent Hill franchise: even the setting (a small town in rural Maine) seems to match the common themes of his work.

Holy shit... that's how I'm gonna start off this comment... I didn't really expect a person like DarksydePhil to understand the artistry of Silent Hill 2, but the absolute lack of understanding of what this game even represents makes this such a slog to watch. His personality, not only towards the people that poured their hearts and souls into this game, but towards the few people that actually still watched the guy at the time--be it ironically or not, is truly deplorable. I would have thought at the very least this waste of space would have felt a tad bit of emotion during Mary's final monologue as the game ends--but he was completely and utterly ignorant and numb to it... much like he was throughout the majority of this game's playthrough. He went in, probably expecting a run of the mill "spooky jumpscare" horror game, but got confronted pretty quickly with the reality that it was not only a puzzle game in the sense of its level progression, but a psychological puzzle you have to be actively invested in to truly understand what Silent Hill 2 is not only trying to say as a story, but what it represents as a character study. All the while Phil completely berates his fans for playing on hard difficulty, something he actively chose out of his own free will, which truly puts on display his absolutely worthless personality and gaming 'skills'; Silent Hill 2, and most of the other Silent Hill games for that matter, aren't even games you need 'skill' to play. If you've read through all of this, I apologize if I repeated a bunch of other people's thoughts here, just this human trash's complete lack of all humanity throughout the entirety of this game broke me on a level I cannot begin to put into words, thus leading to this KZbin comment that took me 15 minutes to write. It puts the key reason why this guy doesn't get above 500-600 subs or so on full display, which is, ironically, because of his complete lack of humanity towards his fans and himself.
