Most security companies abuse thier guards. G4s, allied, securitas the major big ones abuse thier guards. The turnover rate for these companies are so high. The reviews are 2.6 and under a employees view. They hire just anybody on the street. They look at guards as numbers and bodies to fill a post. Not all companies but most. If they valued thier guards the guards would work hard. Instead they low bid on sites then pay guards shity pay. 16.50 to protect a multi million dollar building. You get what you pay for, you won't attract decent guards paying peanuts.

I am a Security Professional in the state of texas with 10+ years of Military Security Law enforcement corporate security experience. As an individual, the security companies really take advantage of you if you let them. I am planning to get my license and start my own company. Thank you for your videos.

Hi Stardust Productions! Like any industry, there are good apples and unfortunately bad apples. Either way, I encourage anyone who wants to try to help with making positive changes to get involved. Whether that takes the shape of you starting a security guard company, getting involved in one of the industry groups, or just being a positive role model. WE determine what this industry is going to be. ;-) Thank you for your service!

I am doing the same in Ohio. Most of the companies up here are underbidding, and underpaying, poorly run, trash. They expect you to work with 10.00/hr while armed, and if you have cirts for equipment like a taser, most companies don't want you to utilize your tools when necessary. Their excuse is "liability" but in reality, they just would rather (depending on the company) you escalate, or some how, deescalate by either rolling over you take getting beaten up or by being inherently stronger than the assailant at any and ever time. Even though though sometimes these assailants are on something that gives them near super human strength. Its just not possible. They offer 0 training for new Armed Officers, first time Officers, Unarmed Officers, and expect those who do know what they are doing, to just not worry about it. This mostly happens with the under bidders who charge $12/hr while their Officer gets paid $10/hr and when the Officer has to do over time to cover the post, management blames the officer for loosing money on the contract they set up. These practices are unacceptable, and I plan to lead the charge here, in out performing these companies that screw their officers. I plan to charge a reasonable rate while providing appropriate pay, training and guidance to officers. The better trained we are, the easier it'll be to avoid conflicts with clients, their staff, and their customers. Use spend money on training, equipment, and resources, for our officers to better perform their duties, and create policies to give them the support from management that they need. These are real goals and are possible if you budget correctly. The companies here in Ohio are sub par. The best companies I've worked for have been from out of state. It's ridiculous.

Here in colorado the security industry is largely unregulated at the state level. Cities can regulate and some like Denver and Colorado Springs do but many others do not, like Grand Junction, which has zero regulations.

Hi Jon, yeah unregulated industries can make business a little challenging. Probably an even bigger reason to form an association.

The idea of a security company being done away and it’s just everyone for himself (contractors) could go wrong very quick I believe Fierce competition

The Florida Div of Licensing regulates the private security industry & private investigations. MyLicenseSite.com . I've worked in private security in Florida since 2000. I think the big problem with the industry is the "bottom feeders". 👎. Omar Mateen, the Pulse Night Club terrorist was a Florida licensed security officer: D-G, G4S company. The wages in FL are way out of line too. The low end firms hire poor quality guards then pay low wages. FASCO, another Florida trade group does not really address the industry issues either. I'd add that FDLE & the Div of Licsensing mandated in service training for sworn LE 🚔👮🏻♂️⚖ up until 2009 then cut the funding. 👎. That's wrong.

A license security officer has the opportunity to earn the extra money that would other wise go to the owners of Security Companies. Yup!!!
