100%. In one of his recent videos he started out by implying more rest days will help growth, then he launched into some story about a client whose shoulders were lagging behind other muscle groups in photos, so Mike's solution was to... make the client double up on the shoulders and push them twice as hard?? Contradictory AF

I mean yes you will especially if you’re taking steroids and stuff. Your testosterone will never drop, meaning you can gain muscle while losing fat. Because when you cut the testosterone drops naturally, so with steroids you can gain muscle while cutting. the work that you put in directly gets translated into my muscle also, especially when you’re cutting it’s necessary to do heavy work and make sure you’re definitely keeping attention on those certain muscles that you wanna pop this guy is a world-class bodybuilder I think he knows more than you

I don’t think none of you actually understand him. You actually don’t need to train abs the first time I ever got mine, I never trained them I focused on the kitchen. And once there visible you then can stimulate them with bodyweight exercises. If you never tried this then do not speak on so. Whether your fat, slim, or jacked… if you don’t train a certain muscle group in a prolonged time, once you hit it- the next day you will be sore. But the key is BODYWEIGHT. This ONLY pretends to BODYBUILDERS. Athletes, do what your coach tells you. 😊

He doesn’t know about vacuums? I find that hard to believe. If you exhale as much as you can, then pull your stomach in and up as much as you can, your mid-section will reduce in size - long as you are lean. But the process may create some inflation in the lungs.

So that must be the issue with my wide waist and love handles. I've always worked abs and obliques hard. The ab mach is the only machine I can do the whole stack lol. But since my bulging disk flare up I switched to weighted crunches, planks and side planks. Couldn't even do a side plank at first and now I'm up to almost a minute per side. Then I do side bends with 35lbs. Now I'm wondering if I'm doing my harn than good?

If you train them on a bulk, it’s easier for them to repair and grow because of the abundance of nutrient. On a CUT, you’re in a calorie deficit and atrophy will occur if you overtrain a muscle group because it cannot repair and regenerate faster than the rate of training
@keithremedy
@keithremedy 2 күн бұрын
@@DevinXLiftsnormally I’d agree with this but for most people they won’t show at all unless you are relatively lean. Unless you are somebody with genetics for it and pretty much stays relatively lean year around bulk or no bulk. Abs you don’t really need to worry about over training them as much as you do with other areas. Training them with weight only really adds definition to whatever genetics you have for your core. You can’t really change that

@DevinXLifts no he is saying he doesn't train it when he is bulking because then he will look like he has a big gut as there will be fat on top of the big abs. Once he starts the cut the fat disappears then he focuses on making the abs bigger by training them directly.

Not a fan of him in general because hes a fake natty! HOWEVER coming from a bodybuilding standpoint and being judged on proportions in the Mens Physique or classic physique division he is CORRECT. Training abs with progressive overload will grow and thicken your abs and obliques which takes away from the “V-taper. I pretty much do the same. Off season no abdominal training. On prep im training them after every workout with higher reps and lower weight and SQUEEZING the hell out of them! This defines and makes core rock solid without growing them!
