I don’t think none of you actually understand him. You actually don’t need to train abs the first time I ever got mine, I never trained them I focused on the kitchen. And once there visible you then can stimulate them with bodyweight exercises. If you never tried this then do not speak on so. Whether your fat, slim, or jacked… if you don’t train a certain muscle group in a prolonged time, once you hit it- the next day you will be sore. But the key is BODYWEIGHT. This ONLY pretends to BODYBUILDERS. Athletes, do what your coach tells you. 😊

@YeahTheDuckweed2 күн бұрын
no no, i think he means he trains abs only on a cut so they get STRONGER but not BIGGER. that makes a lick of sense imo
@DevinXLifts2 күн бұрын
If you train them on a bulk, it’s easier for them to repair and grow because of the abundance of nutrient. On a CUT, you’re in a calorie deficit and atrophy will occur if you overtrain a muscle group because it cannot repair and regenerate faster than the rate of training
@keithremedy2 күн бұрын
@@DevinXLiftsnormally I’d agree with this but for most people they won’t show at all unless you are relatively lean. Unless you are somebody with genetics for it and pretty much stays relatively lean year around bulk or no bulk. Abs you don’t really need to worry about over training them as much as you do with other areas. Training them with weight only really adds definition to whatever genetics you have for your core. You can’t really change that
@DevinXLifts2 күн бұрын
@ I think you’re missing the point, he’s encouraging overtraining them on a deficit so they STAY smaller
@earth2baz2 күн бұрын
@DevinXLifts no he is saying he doesn't train it when he is bulking because then he will look like he has a big gut as there will be fat on top of the big abs. Once he starts the cut the fat disappears then he focuses on making the abs bigger by training them directly.

Not a fan of him in general because hes a fake natty! HOWEVER coming from a bodybuilding standpoint and being judged on proportions in the Mens Physique or classic physique division he is CORRECT. Training abs with progressive overload will grow and thicken your abs and obliques which takes away from the “V-taper. I pretty much do the same. Off season no abdominal training. On prep im training them after every workout with higher reps and lower weight and SQUEEZING the hell out of them! This defines and makes core rock solid without growing them!
