I love landing a big ole trash fish. Let’s be honest, as bass anglers we are usually way overpowered when it comes to fighting fish so it’s a blast actually having to battle them. Makes you realize how crazy strong even 6-8 pound test is.

Great video! Not just the line, but the reel and the hook performed as well!

You need to send that video to Sunline 👍

I'm right there with you on Sunline I've been using it for several years now and love it... that said 9 times out of 10 you hook a gar of this size with this size line I don't care what line company you use it's done for. Just bought another hypermag yesterday it's definitely my favorite spinning reel from lews...

Been using Sunline Sniper for over 10 years, hands down the best bang for the buck line on the market. Have never had a issue with it... Sorry though, I prefer Suffix 832 for my braid, same thing have never had an issue.....Thanks Todd.

Great landing Todd!! Good eating fish requires a lot of processing, but fried Gar Balls/pattys like salmon are excellent.

I'm honestly surprised anyone likes Sniper. My experience with it in all sizes has been terrible. I get random breaks with it all the time that make no sense, like inside the spool. Lost several fish. No it's not from backlashes or bad guides or anything like that. And the memory is unbearable. Even running it out behind the boat doesn't tame the crazy coils. After a year of nothing but sniper, i went back to good ol seaguar red label, and while it's not perfect, im much happier. And it's way cheaper. I can't overstate how much i hated using Sniper. BUT to each his own, that's just been my experience.

I love Sunline, especially Shooter (except when it’s really cold because it gets super hard), xplasma, overwatch, the old pink d-braid (I loaded up when they discontinued it) and tornado (it’s my favorite spinning gear leader). Shooter is the best fluoro I’ve found for heavy cover and bottom contact stuff. But the newer spools of sniper have seemed super inconsistent. The older bulk spools of sniper I have are great. For the stuff I used sniper for, I’ve since switched to Daiwa samurai and in specific situations Seaguar tatsu and haven’t had any problems. Tatsu is the best I’ve found, especially when it’s really cold, but the price is ridiculous.

Great product indeed. Your leader knot was as good as your line.
