My Husband was Bass player, and a damned good one. He was highly sought after in the Tampa Bay area in the 70's. He was on his way to the big time, had an agent and everything! His band was getting ready for a Scandinavian Tour when bad decisions, and judgement ruined it all! He quit his own band! He couldn't deal with their unprofessional actions on stage, and all Drama. His lead singer was Ms. Alaska Shame, they were the hottest Band in Tampa at the time, even did a commercial advertising the Night Life of Tampa Bay! Their name was Liberation! He started another Band called Stone Creek Junction and continued playing locally. His guitar player went on to the big time, he opened for people like Freddie Fender, Reba Mcentire, Kenny Rogers etc! I used to gripe and raise hell because of all the reherals in either my living room, or the garage, our neighbors loved it! I sure miss those days! R.I.P baby, I know you're up there playing with Elvis! His groups did a lot of Bee Gees stuff, I hated it, because I hate disco!

Hello! I grew up with the BeeGees back in the 70’s and I have to say they are so special! There is no other group to this day that. can compare. They were amazing.

I was actually watching a documentary about them like I do a lot of celebrities and the lead singer saying how they were heading to Miami or already in Miami. He was listening to the wheels make this taping noise and the melody of the song came to him. I was like I do stuff like that too melodies will come from something as simple as a consistent tap. Then they played the outcome which was Jive talking …. man …. I love to listen to music and imagine what those times were like when the music came out. Seems like the whole Miami scene was really picking up in music and movies. Funk Soul Bluegrass … something special.

I remember when I was a kid having to go to bed early and the neighbours were having a party with this song playing and I was standing on my bed hanging out the window listening to this thinking, "I got to get this album!" Of course I wasn't aloud due to my strict religious upbringing (Jehovah's Witness) and I wasn't aloud to listen to disco. I ended up buying it anyway and hiding it in my room. One of the best decisions I made...other than escaping that cult. Lol.
@hongfang25083 жыл бұрын
More Than a Woman is a very good song. It's a disco tune from the movie Sat Night Fever. For some reason, BeeGees did not release this song as a single in the US (from Bee Gees discography), but I bet it would have gone to #1 if they had.

Fun Fact: The beat to this song was due to them driving over a bridge to their studio. It has that clickety click sound and Barry just started singing Jive Talking. They didn’t understand that Jive Talking was slang for bullsh$t-ing. They were thinking about the dance Jive. Their producer told them what it was. So they changed up the lyrics a little. 😁. Robin can play piano but he never did in concerts. How bout that funky baseline from Mo. 👍🏻

Though they were both huge hits there's no music videos, and please avoid the live versions for these songs - audio is the best representation of the songs to react to, trust me on that. Also yes, 'More Then A Woman' is another big hit from their disco era - there's a lyrics video for that. :) Keep at it with the Bee Gees - there's so many more amazing songs of theirs for you to check out!
