In 1978 The Bee Gees had 3 songs in the top ten. They were How Deep Is Your Love, Stayin' Alive, and Night Fever and suffice it to say that they had more than 30 Top 40 records, nine of which went to #1.

There's an interview with Barry on KZbin that is pretty heart wrenching. It was done not long ago and two times during the interview he got emotional (understandably being the last surviving brother). But he said something very important that at the time of each brother's death, he wasn't "getting on" with them. They had had disagreements and weren't getting along and then died. So you never know when you're going to lose a loved one and if you are estranged with someone you love or have lost touch, get in touch, forgive and spend time because life is way too short. We never know how long we have.

"Jive Talking" was a song on the 1977 Saturday Night Fever soundtrack and hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100. It also reached the top-five on the UK Singles Chart in the middle of 1975. Largely recognized as the group's "comeback" song. It was their first US top-10 hit since "How Can You Mend a Broken Heart" in 1971.

That's a slightly shortened edit of the song for the video. The album version goes on a bit longer. The opening scratched guitar riff was inspired by a bridge that Barry Gibb used to drive over every day on his way to the group's recording studio in Miami. It was a metal deck bridge that gave off a certain sound and rhythm when driven over at a certain speed.

I remember, back in the 70s when the mass market radio stations flooded the airwaves with disco, at the expense of other genres -- there was a backlash. It all happened very fast -- disco was everywhere, then nowhere. But I still love it, and the Bee Gees were amazing. Unreal harmonies. Andy Gibb too, though we lost him way too soon. It is nice to see someone hear this music for the first time, takes me back.
