If there's one thing I know most people in the US won't put up with, it's this. I'll admit what many were willing to accept (and even demand) during the human malware event surprised me but most of them still had their nice, cozy homes to chill in while they stayed home from work and complained on Twitter all day. If this is where most lived it would have ended in a week. I could maybe see something like these (not quitr this dystopian but similar) being used more in cities for business rentals. People traveling for weeks or more to various places throughout the year who can't justify hotels and mostly just need a place to sleep, shower and keep their belongings safe. I'd hope employees of big companies wouldn't put up with it but traveling salesman and small businesses could probably justify as long as they're as affordable as they should be.

It allows them to cut costs more and bam that's how you get dystopian future. Think about it. In general every human being should be able to get and own their own piece of land. Their own home. Their own property. Not forced to rent out a broom closet because it's socially acceptable and they can't make enough money in jobs anymore to live like that. The American dream. Your own home.
