My husband is from South Africa, he's got a degree in IT and works. On his Visa it states he is not eligible for any government assistance. We paid a small fortune for this privilege and spent two years apart to facilitate it. We are fortunate to be living together now, and we have a child on the way. If my husband committed and thus convicted of a crime or we got divorced, we are both fully aware that he would not be allowed to stay in the UK. Despite us having a child together. My parents came to the UK around 20 years ago (bringing me with of course). We had ancestral visas and we still had to jump through loads of hoops and pay a lot of money to get here. When I went to apply for my passport a few years ago, there was a huge queue in front of the immigration office, and I didn't hear any English being spoken. My grandparents arrived here in 1948 and 1956, the dates tell you what community they were from. I believe around 500,000 arrived in total over a 20 YEAR PERIOD!! Many came as British subjects because of colonial rule. There was no housing, no benefits, no nothing! They were invited, came to work and provide better lives for their children. They spent most of their time in church. I feel annoyed that people have been able to come to Britain - with no desire to assimilate and the numbers are CRAZY!!!!!!! I’ve become a regular church goer after years of not attending. It’s important if you are a Christian to start going to church.

It’s happening in Japan, too. I’ve been here 20 years, and almost never saw other foreigners. Now they’re everywhere, and the change is massive. They don’t obey basic social rules, and their normal manner of dress, body language, etc often comes off as threatening here, so it’s actually frightening.
