THIS IS KURDISTAN
I spent the past two years gathering videos capturing all parts of Kurdistan in order to create this film. This was a very time consuming project, for good quality videos shot in Kurdistan are not easy to come by. This carefully put together film consists of fragments selected from over one thousand videos, some short and some very lengthy, shot in at least eight different languages and in four different countries. For these reasons, imperfections should be expected - I am not a professional editor by any means and I was solely responsible for this entire project.
With this film, I hope to introduce Kurdistan, the native homeland of the ancient Kurdish Nation, to the best of my abilities. Kurdistan is 'Ground Zero of History', for it was here where mankind first cultivated land, domesticated animals, built cities, invented the written language, and worshiped Gods. Indeed, it was also here where the Prophet Abraham first saw light, where the Garden of Eden and the Hanging Gardens of Babylon are believed to have been, and where the Ark of Noah landed. These lands have given rise to villains and heroes, kings and queens, prophets and apostates, and poets and musicians since the dawn of history. And the Kurds, first attested as 'Gutians' during the Era of Akkad, have called these lands their home for over 5,000 years.
Kurdistan exists. This is Kurdistan.

The architectural styles in Amed are mostly Kurdish, since the oldest structures in that style were built during the Kurdish Marwanid dynasty around 950, when Turks (let alone Seljuks) were not in the Middle-East yet by large numbers. In addition, many things Turkey has classified as "Seljuk" are not Seljuk at all. For example, the Tombstones of Xelat (Ahlat) are NOT Seljuk, even though Turkey claims them to be Seljuk architecture. In fact, out of thousands of tombstones in Xelat, there is not a single Seljuk tombstone - the oldest tombstone dates back to the Kurdish Ayyubid dynasty. Another good example of Turkish falsification of history is the Mosque of Manuchir in Ani; the Mosque was built during the Kurdish Shaddadid Dynasty by the Kurdish Prince Manuchir (named after him), but Turkey claims the mosque to be the "first Turkish architectural monument in Anatolia" - which is simply a lie. Many Turks buy the Turkish State's falsficiation of history at face value, but I have done my research, and have made it one of my missions to expose those lies.

It isn't about where you live, or which country you come from...it is the total sum of WHO you are - who your actual ancestors were, where they migrated from. Thank you for your very kind and supportive words, Andrei! Kurdistan is, from a global historic perspective, a very important place, but doesn't get the attention/recognition it deserves. There are tens of thousands of ancient archaeological sites-just waiting to be researched and excavated. The few that were excavated, like "Gobekli Tepe", changed our understanding of human history, so who knows what else is buried there! Unfortunately, Turkey is actively destroying archaeological sites and other monuments (in particular Kurdish and Christian monuments)-they have only brought death and destruction wherever they went! @@KurdishHeritage I was passionated for history and archaeology and had the chance to work in an academic library were I've studied many books about ancient civilizations and as any historian, I came to realize that the area of the Fertile Crescent were are the most important archaeological sites of the first Neolithical settlements is where what is today Syria, Turkey and Iraq meet, but somehow I didn't realize till late that is is exactly where Kurdistan lays. Your video was important for me because was for the first time I saw images from Amed and most other locations. I was knowing something about some of them but when you see them in pictures is very different. I didn't expect these ancient buildings to be so large and well preserved. Most people in western hemisphere are ignorant about these things because lack of education. Western countries are very eurocentric, only specialists and passionate people know where civilization first appeared and the importance of Fertile Crescent. Most others believe everything started with Athens and Rome. Without knowledge and education they will for ever remain ignorant about the peoples of these area, their historical rights and as such. Thankfully, turks are crazy enough to destroy the trust westerners have in them and as neither russians love them, they will be isolated. Their nostalgy about their imperial past is quite delusional. Actually, history of Romanians is not very impressive and we do not have rich heritage (except the one built by Germans and Hungarians in Transylvania). Vlad the Impaler was popularized by Stoker's book and has a negative effect in that stops foreigners from learning something real about our culture and nature. Most foreigners come to visit Romania by so-called "dracula tours" which promotes fake facts and from which they remain with nothing.
