I read articles about Liza being not grateful for her past achievements and career but watching this video is the opposite. This girl just taking a different path, rediscovering herself, and that's just a new motivation. I think this rebranding of her is brave. I want to see Liza step out from generic genres and see more of her hidden talents. Way to go Liza. You're an inspiration.
@juanluna9112 Жыл бұрын
There is a difference between not grateful and 'just taking a different path'. Not being grateful means unappreciative or in Tagalog, walang utang na loob. 'Just taking a different path' simply means choosing a career path. They are not the same as can be seen/heard on the video.

But that setup made her a star! That single male co-star and three directors she worked with helped her to get a name in the industry. I don't know if it's just how it was written in this picture/article, but she sounded ungrateful; could have used the words, I'm grateful to have worked for 13 years being paired with (name of actor) and worked with 3 great directors (names), to sound appreciative because even though she felt boxed, it still benifited her. There's no problem with wanting to explore and be independent, but never forget your starting point, be humble! Hi Hope! I can relate to you a lot. I'm 25 now but for 24 years of my life, I've always been a sheltered one. Always doing what my parents want for me. So before the year 2022 ended, I've decided to leave our house and live independently on my own. A lot of my friends were shocked at what I've done, knowing fully that I'm the youngest and always being a filial one. I've encountered panic attacks, anxiety and depression in 2022 for the entire year. My parents knew only the tip of the reason why, but the entire thing is about my freedom. I want to know myself, challenge myself and be out there with people. The pandemic made me distant myself from being social and it gave me lots of distress. Kudos to your decision to finally speak up and act on your own accord! It was always a brave thing to get out of our comfort zone but you did it for your peace and happiness. I hope that you'll always remember who you really are. That you are "Hope" before you were "LIZA"

I only have two liked videos in KZbin since I started this account 5 years ago. One of those videos is this one. I give so much respect and value to people and stories like this one. Stories associated with people making wise but difficult decisions in their lives. Stories of enlightenment and profound wisdom. Much respect to you, Hope. I was never wrong about how I felt about you. I always knew there's something special about your energy. I felt the same energy with Catriona Gray in 2019 and even with Sam Milby a long time ago when I read an article about his philosophy about love and relationships in the newspaper. The tabloid even titled the article, "you shouldn't take Sam Milby's advice on relationships" or something like that. Well, I was one of those people who did take his advice-actually, no-I already shared the same belief as his at that moment. What's funny is that Sam and Catriona are together now and are, in fact, engaged. What are the odds? Because of this great decision you made in your life, I am very proud to see my favourite female artist in the entire Philippine show business-I'm not even exaggerating. You really are my favourite, but it's not about your talent but your personal character as for my judgement to your philosophies-taking her huge leap in life after her spiritual journey. Figures like you truly inspire me to take my own spiritual journey more seriously. Indeed, you are one of the best gifts from God. Thank you for opening your journey to us. 👏 P.S The other video that I 'liked' is Prince Ea's "Quitting Social Media (2023)."

Lesson learned from viral scam by using popularity like artist, influencers… Even they don’t actually use the brand but because of the talent fee or contract . Like whitening products, even influencers are not real fair and flawless skin. Use the product that suits your skin not because of your idol endorsement. To Hope/Liza: Intention versus Impact. Those two are the hardest to align. This is were you inadvertently fell short. This is where you as the captain of your ship, failed. You wanted a “say” and you got exactly what you wished for. You spoke your truth, or your version of it and people on the other side had to as well. Not as a matter of attack on you but because they also had the right to speak theirs. In my mind, was mentioning the opportunity costs necessary? To what end? To set a baseline? Did you need to justify the rebrand or the need for growth? The simple answer for me is NOPE. You could have just moved on.. You speak of growth, you speak of rebrand, you speak….that is the core of the problem. You open your mouth and expect the world to just “understand” but when your words slice other people directly and indirectly, intentional or not, the impact outweighs the intent. If you know what is right for you, shouldn’t that be enough? You always had a choice-that is a fact, no matter how difficult the process is to choose one, you always had a choice. After all is said and done, one thing is evident. Through no fault of your own, you still have to learn a lot of things, how contacts work, finance, commissions, legal right, waiving your rights and estoppel (he principle which precludes a person from asserting something contrary to what is implied by a previous action or statement). I am sure by now, you know that the world is not kind. I’m sure you learned how lacking you are when it comes to being mindful of your words. Unless you like bad press for breakfast, it is in your best interest to be careful --not careless. Your star is falling fast. Your management team has been true to their word-- they could not care less. I am quite positive that you got their blessing before you released this vlog and you got a resounding YES! They allowed you to singlehandedly ruined your reputation-that is a fact. Boy, can they make things happen, huh. Be careful of the “yes, people around you-often, they just let you hear what you want to hear-that’s a bit careless, I think. You crave so much, you want to do a lot, you want to grow your artistic talent, you want to experience the hardships, well, congratulations, you did great on the this vlog. Might I suggest that you reflect the growth and creative freedom you so crave in the projects and work you do. Growth is a process, a journey. Let your daily decisions reflect the growth you peak of, you are 25 for crying out loud yet you still fail to see the repercussions of actions-to make it worst you seem surprised at the backlash. For the love of what is good and pure, just focus on your work. Your star is fading faster than you can say Jake Zyrus. Yeah, that singer who used to be on top of the world, remember? There is an empty chair beside her with your name on it. Careless. The world we live in puts a lot of emphasis on success. We all define that differently. As Liza Soberano, the world they created for you was curated, artificial if you may. So when you speak your truth, know that your truth is a product of a vacuum so thread lightly, be quiet as you learn, think before you open your mouth. You are always one decision away for ruining your life -we all are to be honest. I remember the lines from the song For Good (Wicked): I've heard it said That people come into our lives for a reason Bringing something we must learn And we are led To those who help us most to grow If we let them And we help them in return Well, I don't know if I believe that's true But I know I'm who I am today Because I knew you

This is the second filipino artista I have seen take on this journey and it really opens my eyes a lot to the commitment to the fans and management artistas have compared to US actors and actresses. I recently started watching FIlipino movies to aid in learning the language (I'm a first gen Filipino American) and was commenting to my husband how it seems like the Philippines really really typecasts their actors and keeps them in the same roles with the same people who are also playing the same roles. Congrats to Ms Hope Soberano for reclaiming her name. It might be my American lens, but to me she does not sound ungrateful for everything her typecasting has brought her.... but simply she outgrew that and wants more. If you, as a manager, do not want your artist to expand their craft and to grow... are they even a person to you? Or just a profit?

This is so true, she's being true to herself now. It doesn't mean she's ungrateful, she just grow and wanting more than she deserves..

Filipinos have this weird culture of “utang na loob” they’re hating on her now as if her old management didn’t also get something from her. They said she’s “ungrateful” when she’s just here being transparent & speaking on her truth and personal experiences. It’s really frustrating seeing artists in the Philippines get typecast & stay in the same roles & same spot all their lives
@ReginaVestra Жыл бұрын
@@supersucks Yeah I can see how that is causing so much criticism for her. "Oh look, her management made her into what she is and she is now turning her back on them" sounds super familiar. The whole utang na loob thing stateside is an interesting conversation.
@emcee8401 Жыл бұрын
Also. Like UTANG NA LOOB for what? Everyone she got involved with got paid the same way she did. Every person that worked with her put in the work the same way she did. She just decided that phase is over. Don’t get why people use UTANG NA LOOB, it seems like somehow it’s manipulation so the other person cannot make a different decision or move on the way they want. Helping someone so you can help them and you believe in them isn’t UTANG na LOOB, it’s helping. If you count as UTANG na LOOB, I feel like it’s being used one day as a weapon against another person.

There is no problem if she wanted to explore but telling the public that her youth was stolen from her as if all her time was not paid, as if all her efforts were put into vain when in fact she was totally poor and she claimed that before so backlashing her old management just to impose her will to move forward is not a wise opinion for me. People admired her bcoz of her attitude for 12 years in showbiz and thats why people loved her now that she regretted all those years we'll what will happen to her. She just lost respect to some who truly admired her but it turned out it was not her true personality.

Filipinos in general has a very linear perspective about career, or life in general. For many, they think a happy life is just getting a stable job or career, lots of material stuff, complete family, and a lot more. But personal happiness is uniquely defined by each of us. Just let people discover their happiness, pursue their talents and dreams. If you have sons and daughters, siblings, or loved ones… wouldn’t you support their dreams or goals in life? So let Liza or Hope rather, lead her life where she thinks she can find her happiness.

i think this is why philippines is a poor country. or even filipinos in general. because we all are "grateful" with less even though we deserve and CAN reach something more. we choose to settle for less and encourage other people to do the same instead of takings risks to boost your career. "dont be too ambitious, be thankful na mayroon kang ganyan." so you choose to be complacent. this is what makes our culture so stagnant. you all are so afraid of change and progress that you choose to "be grateful nalang for what you have." i call this toxic positivity

Hi Hope, As women, we grow up with the idea that in order to be valuable we have to be *of* value and service to others. This belief has become so ingrained in us, that setting boundaries and learning to put ourselves first not only seems like a scary task, but one that comes laden with guilt. Setting personal boundaries is unfortunately something a lot of women struggle with. It’s not that it’s bad to give of ourselves to our families, friends, communities and work or career. It’s that if we over-extend ourselves to others, we put ourselves on the back burner of our own lives. We end up being lived, instead of being fully alive. That’s why we need 👉🏻healthy boundaries. They set the standard on how we want to be treated, and help us regain control over our existence. To liberate ourselves from guilt we need to understand that the only validation we truly need is our own. The more you trust your intuition, the more empowered you become, the stronger you become, and the happier you become. Remember always that you not only have the right to be an individual, you have an obligation to be one. At times you have to leave the city of your comfort and go into the wilderness of your intuition. What you’ll discover will be wonderful. What you’ll discover is yourself. Love yourself enough to set 👉🏻boundaries. Your time and energy are precious. You get to choose how you use it. You teach people how to treat you by deciding what you will and won’t accept. You have no responsibility to live up to what other people think you ought to accomplish. Dare to believe that good things are possible when you follow your heart. At the center of your being you have the answer; you know who you are and you know what you want. Life is really simple, but unfortunately, a few of those surrounding us often insist on making it complicated by letting sensitivity, emotions, & old school beliefs, & traditions get in the way…. Yet the only constant in life is Change. All you can do in regard to your own life is choose the best path that you believe in. If you don’t make courageous choices for yourself, nobody else will. As long as you look for someone else to validate who you are by seeking their approval, you are setting yourself up for disaster. The less you care about validation, the more you grow. You have to be whole and complete in yourself. No one can give you that. You have to know who you are - what others say is purely irrelevant. You will never gain anyone’s approval by proving something or begging for it. When you stand confident in your own worth, remember 👉🏻respect follows. Nobody can tell you what to do. No matter what obligations you feel you owe them. Time is also a limited resource. You can respond to a comment on Facebook with an opinion no one will care about in a hundred years, or you can do something. Be prepared to shed all of the irrelevant & toxic people from your life that benefitted from your lack of boundaries. The moment you feel you have to prove your worth to someone is the moment to absolutely and utterly walk away. Love yourself enough to leave behind anything or anyone that no longer serves your best interest. Hope.. I’m not here to empower you. Because I know that you already have everything you need within you.. You have charm, wit, heart, passion, and strength and power beyond what you think you’re capable of. You have the knowledge and resources to learn more, do more, and achieve more. You have skills and life experience that no other woman has, and that gives you your own unique perspective on the world. You are 👉🏻empowered because you have those qualities; no one can take them away from you. Nor can someone give you permission, authority, or power to show up as your beautiful, authentic self. Empowering women is the fundamental right of every women in this world & you already know about the importance of 👉🏻women's empowerment. It's not easy to share your experiences and be vulnerable, but it can give that much needed voice to thousands or millions of women you continue to inspire. You are young goddess who embody female wisdom, strength and empowerment. The gift is obviously ALREADY yours.. it is engraved in you! So continue on your mission. You’re in the right path & millions around the world (2.1 Millions views so far) are witnessing that 👉🏻paradigm shift already.. As for the backlash, haters.. negative reviews, opinions, & naysayers… Ignore’em.. Remember people who repeatedly attack your confidence and self-esteem are quite aware of your 👉🏻potential. Too many people spend their whole lives chasing after the approval of others. If you know your true worth, you do not need anyone else to confirm it. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most importantly, always hang on to that courage & wisdom within you to follow your heart and intuition. Let GOD guide you thru journey thru life…. Everyone else is secondary. God Bless you young lady❤ Ms. Hope Soberano🌹

But with regards to Tito Boy Abunda's reaction, I respect him and I believe that he is right, you should always be grateful and will not say anything bad about the past because that makes everyone of us what we are today. Of course Liza said naman she is grateful but still those directors that she mentioned are 3 of the best and they helped you Liza and Ken with your career. That's her difference with Kisses, because Kisses though she change her management she never said anything bad towards her last management through and through she is very respectful and grateful. I just hope that she will clear this things... But with regards to changes in your career go for it... Just don't disregard those people who made you famous and your past because that will help you with everything you want to achieve... Kasabihan nga, Ang hindi lumingon sa pinanggalingan ay hindi makararating sa paroroonan". Walang naging masama sa past career mo Liza because that makes you who you are today...

Liza is like some of us that if we ever speak our minds, choose ourselves and take a different path than what the people expect us to go will be labeled as "ungrateful" "selfish". I've been watching her interviews and I feel like she is expressing her feelings that I am not brave enough to speak about. Where is it just simply saying "pwedeng ako muna?"

One of the things I pick up from this vlog is that it's never too late to start something new and to take risks. Never let someone hold you back and stop you from realizing your full potential. You have broken a cycle Hope, and I hope the showbiz industry here in PH can take this into consideration to finally make a change with the way things are right now.

Because we might not now, if we don't succeed exploring, we'll come back from where we started. Don't burn bridges.

The amount of hate she's gaining recently is so disgusting and sad at the same time. The time where she decided to put herself first, listen to her own, decide for her own, and live for her own, became the time where people hate on her and call her ungrateful. Which is the total opposite of what she's been saying. The way people take her words so shallowly and put negative interpretations on it to make her look petty and ungrateful is extremely upsetting. She IS grateful and appreciative. But the whole time in her career, she just felt like a flower that is moving and growing into what people want to see, not into what she want to be. And now that she's grown and realized the path the she wants to take, she is letting go and starting new. And that's a beautiful thing! This is exactly why it was so hard to announce this type of growth and decision to the world in the first place, because people take it so negatively. Despite the shallow and hateful comments she's been getting, I hope she would still believe that this is the best decision for her and that so many of her fans are still supporting her. She's going to move forward with her career and achieve her dreams to prove it to HERSELF and not to anyone else. We are rooting for you, Hope!

But for sure, she is grateful for everything that made her today, all she wants now, now that is she is half way with her 20s, is some freedom to pursue her true goals. to learn, to study, to experiment....and she has all the rights to pursue what she wants.
