There are some comments disagreeing with the claim that Monaco is the "richest country on Earth". First point: feel free to disagree. Second point: it depends on how you calculate it, whether you mean the total GDP of a country (in which case the US wins) or else GDP or GNI per capita (in which case Qatar is #1). However in this video I'm referencing the following line in Wikipedia: "Monaco is known to be the most expensive and the wealthiest place on Earth, Vatican City excluded, due to its tax laws. In 2014, it was noted that about 30% of the population was made up of millionaires.[11]" I'm no economist, but I think it's referring to the average wealth of individual citizens, which is different from basing it on GDP or GNI. So the citizens of the country are the richest in the world based on personal wealth, not necessarily the country as a whole. It makes sense to exclude Vatican City, because the people who live there aren't really permanent residents of the country. No one is born there and citizenship is based on working there. So although Vatican City is a separate country, everyone who lives there comes from somewhere else and has another citizenship. Also I wanted to mention that I noticed the blurriness in this video while panning. I think it's because in my recent videos I switched from filming with my Gopro at 1080p and 60fps to instead filming at 1080p and 30fps, because my computer is being grumpy and it's getting hard to edit the 60fps clips. But because it's looking noticeably worse at 30fps, I switched back to filming at 60fps. Time to get a new computer as soon as I'm back in the US.

When I visited that area in December 2017, the SNCF cancelled so many trains that my "visit" to Monaco consisted of exiting the railway station, looking at the road ahead, and immediately returning to the station! I had been further along the coast to Italy earlier in the day and time was running short to get back to Nice where I was staying. At least I've seen a bit more of Monaco in this excellent video. By the way, hope you get to Nice for a walk along the Promenade des Anglais.

Loving this part of the world Gabe. I was in France in 2014 and did a walk from the village of Tende back in the Alps down to the coast at Menton which is just to the east of Monaco. After the walk I had one day spare and I was going to go to Monaco, but before the walk I was in Serbia at my nephew's wedding. Nine days of solid partying took it's toll (my God those Serbians know how to celebrate!), and my body just said NO! I wish now I had just pushed that little bit more and gone there. To me there is something about that coastline with the mountains behind that I just love. Thanks for bringing it to us.

The day I visited Monaco last year (26th May), I ran into the famous Formula 1 Grand Prix Final. OMG! It was totaly crazy. I didn't know about it. Half of the city way blocked because of the race, so I couldn't visit many places, but I loved every moment of it. And yes, Gabriel, it happens in the streets. I even managed to find places to have a glimpse of the race :) The noise was utterly incredible. It scared the hell out of me :D And the prices of the flats there are unbelievable!
