We just trained the same thing with my friend! A nice way to feel the right preparation is to split your head in two with your racket in the ready-position and try to point the racket the way you want to start the ball. This ensures 2 things, 1) you know you have a nice preparation with a high elbow, 2) you will have enough shoulder turn in preparation. Vamooossss!!

Wow! Nice! This is what I'm working on with my trainer. I think I'm comfortable with the feeling much more than the hearing the hit. Also is important be the side as You issue the Vibora, there is also a moment to hit the ball. No sooner, no later. Thanks so much for showing Your tips and Diego's knowledge. Cheers from Rosario, Argentina.

yes and no,, also it depends of where is located your contact point,, if is too much on your back ( like it seems ) the ball flies with a lot of spin and without control,, if your contact point is a little bit earlier you can control de ball, rotate your hips and look for the correct angle of your wrist. try it ,, and you see that it works greetings from Sydney,,, vamosssssss

Well.. shorter players are more likely to play the bandeja. They can play the vibora when they are closer to the net

Hi steve, I rewatch this video after years and came with the same problem. Before I prepare my raquet more like a bandeja, now y change my grip same as you, but I found that my body need to be more sideways, not like a rulo that my back need be aligned with the net, but more sideways compare to a tradicional bandeja and the contact point o more on my right shoulder. do you feel the same way? Saludos desde México. Vamos!!!

I'm not a pro player, so, in my bandeja, my vibora and my smash the face of the racquet is in the same position at the start of the movement (very close, like tennis serve). I'm sure that I can improve all that shots, but they works (club level) well for me. I pay attention in thre aspects of the shots. Velocity, hight of the rebound and distance from the glass after the rebound; and think I reached a good balence between them in my shots. Changes to better are ever a good idea, but I'm too old to make big changes in my shots. But... Good for you!! :) Vamos!
@OtroNivelPadel3 жыл бұрын
I fully understand, If you are not going for a killing shot you should be able to play them all correctly. And just really focus where you want to play

@OtroNivelPadel2 жыл бұрын
The grip you play comfortable in is the best grip. You can play with both, but maybe you can add more slice with the backhand grip
@cpasa7983 жыл бұрын
The thing with the vibora is that nobody theaches how to decide when to play it deep in the court and when play it slow and short because the defender make a step foward to volley the víbora. The vibora has to be teached with a person trying to defend it so you can have the feeling when to use it because if you hit the vibora far from the net and the defender volley it you probably lose the point if he volley to the corner. The best vibora is the one that hits the back glass and goes all the way to the grid because it’s fast, makes you turn fast and probably get messy in the grid. The víbora that you hit to the corner is easy to defend because they volley it. If you watch WPT nobody hits the vibora like that unless the defender is not in place
@dasa-im6xr3 жыл бұрын
show me an example Dario, please , any videos?

Hi Dario, I fully agree. But.. I am not playing against WPT players :) I also do a softer one in the center, but I just learned this new motion. So my goal is to get a better feeling with the ball, and than work on different aspects of the vibora. If you look to Ale Galan, he plays this vibora in the corner a lot. Backwall sidewall
@cpasa7983 жыл бұрын
@@OtroNivelPadel you don’t need to play wpt to get your víbora get volley, almost in every level you will see that. The reason is because the víbora is a very flat shot and unless you play it really fast (something you cannot do far from the net) is easy to volley. You will see when you play your matches
@davidpritchard88542 жыл бұрын
I have a question for you.... This is from Oct last year, and you mentioned you are changing your action/stroke to use LESS wrist (as it is more risky and difficult to control). But in your video from February this year coaching someone on their vibora, you said use your wrist to "snap" at the end of the stroke. So which is it? Thanks
@OtroNivelPadel2 жыл бұрын
Hi, very good question. This depends on the player. I am overly using the wrist because my preparation was a bandeja preparation. Some players are too stuck in their vibora so than they should use it a little bit. What I found out is that i am infront of the ball a lot. So my contact point is behind me. Than the only thing I can use is my wrist and no arm whatsoever. That is a problem
