I'll give the Sony people some credit here. This is still so obviously and blatantly Bloodborne but it seems they were satisfied just so long as the most blatant and obvious details were sanded off. Certain other companies would have just shut them down entirely. Here? There's a real sense of "Hey, just make an effort to hide it so we have a plausible excuse not to come after it." That's more chill then a company the size of Sony needs to be honestly. I mean the Cleric Beast still jumps in a screams. It's still Bloodborne.

Yeah it's not nintendo or disney level of controls but the game is free. Also most japanese company (except nintendo) are more chill on these thing than the western company. Look how work the doujinshi industry, they basicaly made fanfiction and sell it (sometime with porn in it) and nearly noone do a thing against it.

If you look closer at his character model he's wearing a bird cage with a little bird inside that sits on his head. He doesn't even have a cart, he just runs. Favorite character design in the game.

In all seriousness, though, it's really interesting to see that this game, which has a color palette of brown, gray and black, is visually clear and easy to follow when racing. I don't actually like demakes, as a product (as a concept I'm all for them), but this is a lovely game, by the looks. I really like the health-bar and enemies-on-track concepts that make the weapons so much more of a thing. And, as you say, gorgeous music. Also, while publishers are not our friends and should probably be overthrown, I do think Sony was pretty cool with the "if you strip off the serial numbers we'll say no more about it" whereas we know Nintendo would have said "we expect your head by registered post this time tomorrow".

I really appreciate that this game doesn't have really annoying rubber banding. You're allowed to have a big lead. Also the fact that there are health mechanics is pretty unique and the boss fight was such a fun idea. This is just a great kart racer generally, and then you add the fun off brand Bloodborne stuff and it gets even more fun 😃

This is the first I've seen of it since the rebranding (thanks, Sony, for showing interest in Bloodborne only in terms of copyright infringement). I love that I could pick out bits of Lullaby for Mergo in the second race. "The minigun is new, to be fair." Is the best line. Given how difficult that actual fight is, I think we'd have collectively lost it if he was a werewolf and still had a gun of any sort. That one scream near the end of the Clocktower course was definitely Micolash. I've had the biggest, stupidest grin on my face the entire time watching this. I want to play it so badly, but I'm pretty sure my laptop can't handle it since it gets unhappily hot even with just basic stuff at this point.

They remembered the game just enough to do a copyright complaint, but they can't be bothered to do a PC port or even just a 60fps patch. I keep hoping for something for the 10th anniversary next year, but I'm being realistic about it.

I suspect the game is built in such a way that Sony would need to get FromSoftware back in to touch it up and port it to PC, and those guys are way too expensive now. So most likely, Sony would just get Bluepoint to do to Bloodborne what they did to Demon's Souls.

@@Joe90h I wouldn't entirely say no to that, but I don't think Bloodborne needs a remake like that. I played it for the first time in 2020 on my PS5 and the PS5 does help a lot with framerate drops. I never had any major issues beyond certain areas (mainly in the Lecture Hall where I'd farm the slime scholars; game didn't like it when they crowded together). It still holds up just fine in terms of graphics and all. I never played the original Demon's Souls, so the BluePoint remake didn't bother like I know it bothered others. BluePoint definitely doesn't need to touch the music or anything.
