Like any other comments I've come across - negative feedback they crave the attention - they've never owned a Harley Benton Guitar in there entire life - they don't seem to understand what It takes to become a decent player. - these guitars are built for the average Consumer to practice and have fun. - never to be compared to other manufacturers costing thousands more - Look at what your getting and not what Your not getting . All in all it's a pretty decent underated instrument.

I agree, it’s not a big expensive brand delivering under performance, it’s is an affordable guitar delivering above average results and so much more. Does it replace my Gibsons, no however it’s still a keeper due to the fun I have playing it. To me, it’s a affordable fun playing guitar period.

Thanks for your expose. I own the Harley Benton DC-DLX Gotoh Pelham Blue version with the Tesla pickups stainless steel frets and all Gotoh hardware. I added a Duesenberg Les Trem II Gold TM85G tremolo bar and roller bridge and at $1000 USD it would still be a good value. I paid €248 for the package that included a deluxe gig bag, added €139 for the tremolo bar and €24 for the roller bridge for a total of €411 euros. Great value for the money!

Thank you and I appreciate hearing your your thoughts on the Harley Benton DC-DLX. I recently purchased a DC Custom Cherry, which are now no longer available. An amazing guitar for the price and heavier with split coil Roswell pickups. That guitar literally feels like an $800 guitar yet I purchased new at $225, from thomann online. Sadly I believe it’s discontinued. Thanks so much for added to this subject. 🤘🏻😎🎸

No guitar snob here! I once saw one of the best guitarists in the world play a set with a 99 dollar fender squire on National Television! It sounded amazing. It is not the guitar it is the dude making it sing...........Oh by the way it was Joe Walsh of the Eagles.

sweet guitar brotha! i have the "gotoh" edition in daphney blue that came with the goldness on it along with those tesla humbuckers... dont know what theyr modeled after but they sound sweet both clean and dirty! i even have a chibson SG in purpleburst with cross inlays...gonna pop in some better pups to chase angus a lil bit on tone lol!

I like the sound, they look good, fine construction. But the necks! (see my video's) I am going to order a ST-62MN BK soon, just for fun, and I keep you updated. But I can tell you that the moment it arrives, I have my fret rocker and levelling beam, files, sandpaper ready. It is going to be the 5th Harley Benton. But you are great to watch! Keep going.

Thanks so much for your comment. A fret rocker and file should added to the truss tool package. I’ve been lucky to have a few ST62’s, some modified, one that I’ve relic’d, some just left as stock. All of them I’ve learned how to reliably float the stock hardware. Enjoy it, looking forward to hearing your reaction.

Thanks. This model is the one of their lowest cost choices of SG type guitars. This would be considered a beginner model however it plays and sounds so much more than what it costs. T

It's kind of outrageous that you can buy a gigging-quality electric guitar nowadays for less than the cost of a re-fret.

I couldn’t agree more. Already friends of mine have chosen to purchase a new Fender replacement neck altogether than refret. This model HB model would more likely be overlooked for stage use however nowadays for $300 HB offers models catered for pros. I have my eye on the HB DC custom cherry currently listed at Thomann music at $225. Seriously what not to love about these features available for guitarists without breaking the bank. Have a few their hit and miss some great some not so, they all choke a bit but for the money their unreal a guitar of this price range (relative) 30 years ago was a piece of junk wouldn't stay in tune and kill your fingers put a lot of young people off so kids have no excuses now a days their spoiled for choice really.

Thank you Gerry, for sharing your thoughts. Yes, very true. Kids nowadays have little to no appreciation of how far manufacturing as a whole has progressed. CNC manufacturing has more or less leveled the manufacturing process for brands such as Harley Benton. Despite being a devote admirer and owner of Gibsons the majority of my life I find competitive manufacturing has benefited the consumer nowadays on a scale hard to distinguish what was once known as an enjoyable playing experience for those able to afford a real player experience. This particular model, is not Harley Benton’s pro level examples however I would find nothing to feel ashamed of showing up on stage with this affordable axe. True, some of their models that I have received did require a little finishing touches to bring its total experience to bear. Cheers to all of us who can enjoy without the snobbery what playing guitar is all about, “for the love of it”. 👍
