True words my brother. I've started my 3D printing hobby about 8 years ago with cheapo chinese acrylic i3-clone, modded it so much it became whole new printer. It was a great fun, designing parts, tweaking parameters, fixing what's been broken, but it turns out it was not a 3d printing hobby - it was 3d printer making hobby :) Last summer I've decided to do a full rebuild - new printed parts, some more upgrades, just to make it more up-to-date. It's been a slog, sice then I've only tried do solve problems with it, got enough of it and pulled a trigger on new Qidi Q1 Pro. It's been a game changer - much more reliable (not perfect, but I have the knowledge to fix/change anyting), print quality on even quick draft profile beats the old one by a mile, tolerances are great and the best of it I can print now almost any type of filament I would like, polycarbonate, nylon, abs, you name it. The point is this - if you are on the line, stop thinking and get yourself a modern machine, you'll not regret it.

Glad it worked out for you, I had a lot of fun with that one. It was a lot of trial and error and I learned a lot, so glad it helped others as well

That’s it. We start thinkering with our printers (and it’s great for learning the inner working of these wonderful machines) and eventually we get tired of it and go for something that just works. I started with an Ender 3 a few years ago, then got two other printers that also required a lot of tinkering to get half decent prints… I also went into the resin world (hated it and won’t go back ever, too messy for my taste), now I got a Flashforge 5M. I still don’t care much for multimaterial, Bambu Labs printers are way too expensive where I live and I just want to print stuff now. It’s important to mention that all the knowledge acquired in the tinkered printers is not lost… it’s good for not having to depend on service centers anytime a corrective maintenance is needed.

I couldn't agree more! I did mention in the video that I wouldn't give up the experiences I had with my old printer for anything. Not to keep on with the car analogy, but even if you have a good running car, it's great if you have the experience and know how to actually work on it when the time comes...

I went through the same growth as you. Started with the Qidi X plus and always had to fix or adjust something. Now im on the Bambu X1C and it just prints everything . i dont eve touch the settings

I did start tinkering a bit with the default slicer settings but most of the time, it just works. I'm only a month into ownership of the Bambu... But I've gone through a lot of filament already LOL. I've had two spaghetti messes, one because I forgot to put the build plate back in... I understand the x1c would have detected that LOL. The other was related to me trying to use a very old spool of asa, it broke off eventually and I learned how to clear out the AMS. Not as daunting as I thought it would be by the way...

Thank you, your words are appreciated. I've been trying to do more relaxed style of video, no teleprompter or script, just bullet points. It does seem people like this style of it better...

I'm actually at my day job right now and I'm already working on some revision ideas. That was my main point though, rapid prototyping, trial and error, is so much better when you don't have to think about whether or not the printer is going to work today LOL

do not change materials on a printer whit one toolhead from PLA to PETG is ok once if do the the PETG to PLS you will jam the hotend
@JustinNelsonsProjectsКүн бұрын
I see that done quite often with these printers, if you're talking about mixing materials for ease of removal of support. The important thing is that the printer knows it is switching from one to the other... So it heats it appropriately and does the appropriate Purge...

I have x1c and its just like many other printers. Many problems and it doesn't just print. Keep on shilling.
@JustinNelsonsProjects2 күн бұрын
I'm sorry you're having issues, I'm not really shilling... In fact the whole point of the video is just saying modern printers tend to be better. I even said not to necessarily buy a Bambu specifically, but do some research and get what suits you and your budget. I bought and paid for my p1s after a lot of research, and I never said it was perfect, just that is far better than constantly tinkering with an old outdated printer. Take from my video what you will, but I am certainly not chilling for any particular company, affiliate links are there because, of course they are. Welcome to KZbin... I also have Amazon affiliate links and Amazon doesn't even carry Bambu products.
