One thing I have learnt about doing large format photography it makes you think more about what you are doing. Very interesting to see how you achieved a seemingly simple photo with powerful impact. Great work.

I couldn’t understand why windy conditions were so difficult before I started shooting 4x5. Great job on the first exposure and the square format works well. Definitely worth the effort.

Well done! Difficult conditions and frail looking wooden structure...both photgraphs look ver good to me! Certainly well worth the effort...it's hard working with 4x5 Film!

It is always right to try something. I like the square image but then I grew up using Hasselblad 500C and a Mamiya C330. I like the shorter exposure better but then I like the more natural look as apposed to the milky water look of the 40 second exposure.

Antoine, I’m half way through your videos and thoroughly enjoying them. I’ve subscribed and I’ll now watch the rest. I’m fascinated by LF photography and have had several, but I’ve not been able to stick with it. Maybe I will if I see many more of your videos. Thank you for the effort you put into these. I adore France and have covered the north and west coastlines with my cameras. I’ll be back to shoot the south and the Centrale. ATB, Gary

Both very nice images, agree with square composition. Maybe miscalculated the long exposure correction? Maybe if you have several ND filters of different strengths, didn't use the one you thought you were using? I've certainly made those kinds of errors out in the field with lots to keep track of! Great work.

I understand why you crop that to a square, however I feel that your original composition was strong and you could possibly revisit this perhaps with a little more foreground. I like your work very much

Hi Darryl, I use a Gitzo series 1. It's the previous model. It is very sturdy and weights only 1.4 kg with the head (3 pounds).
