Same is our story my grandpa came from Peshawar, now in pakistan. They were extremely rich there. Were the richest in the area. Only they owned telephone connection, radio and car in that era. All people would gather below there house to listen to radio. Recently one of my aunty managed to get some pictures and videos of their extremely huge old bungalow with the help of a local boy. The house still is the same after 70 years different people live there now, no sign of development at all.

khat l similar story from one of my friends. He was a Muslim from Lahore, he wanted to stay in India so he sold his massive house and land and moved to Hyderabad I met him in school in 2003 he told me the story of his great grandparents and I had a story which I'm not proud of. My grand parents actually took land from poor people who were caught up in partition over 200 acres and built many apartments and made a fortune. Only recently I gave 20 acres to people back. Servants, laborers and etc

tarun jangra what happened was. In Lahore he was one of the richest families. He owned a very large mansion with many servants. But when partition happened his grand father a supporter of united India wanted to leave Pakistan/Lahore. Then they had go across the border Punjab where they could stay. By that time communal fights were raging and stuff he was protected by other Hindus who were leaving Pakistan as he paid them to take care of em. His house was sold for a massive fortune. But the money was almost used up when they made it to Hyderabad. They still had plenty of money. He came into Hyderabad and could not find a house to buy so they spent 1 year on the street. They lost a great deal of there wealth. Then he was able to to buy a large house for his family and make a business like in Lahore of real estate. People were very desperate 1 rupee a month. This particular segment was heart rending to watch , it doesnt matter which faith you belong to ,Hindu, Christian, Sikh, Muslim .Here was a man who had a yearning to visit his childhood home with his grandson one last time before succumbing to cancer. Partition was before all else a human story, no one must forget that. There was wickedness on both sides of the border. This is only one very moving story and if you cannot be moved by this mans tears , you are probably only looking at the tragedy from one perspective.

And they died knowing that they have to live as slaves of foreign rulers. Never forget burnt libraries and Vedic schools, slashed throats in the name of religion, temples that were demolished to erect mosques, and forced conversions. Also, the recent Kashmiri Pandits eviction. It is more recent. But no, why would BBC show it. Does not fit their agenda, eh!

This is a non sense video!! I am an indian muslim!! When my grand father was alive he used to show us a government notice which asked if he wanted to go to Pakistan after separation!! He refused to leave India!! He was a forest ranger and a graduate in his time!! My point is muslims always had a choice!! If some people following other faith came from today's Pakistan to India to live in a secular country rather than in a theological state like Pakistan than their pain when while visiting their original place could very well be understood!! But I am sorry but this man always had a choice and his parents left India to an imaginary future heaven!! This video seems fake to me!!

Fahad Shahid yeah some freedom you people enjoy. You use f16s on your fellow Muslims in KPK. You kidnap and maim your fellow baluchis. Your Punjabi populace makes collective fun of sindhis. Have a remote control government based on rawalpindi. Your own people write in articles and in say in interviews the value of a pakistani passport. Indeed you enjoy a lot of "freedom" . Inshallah this "freedom" keeps getting better

FYI, F16 is an Air to Air fighter aircraft. I wonder how can one use it against civilians on the ground. The only way I can think of is by crashing it into one. The government center of Pakistan is located in Islamabad. I'm an Urdu Speaking and that "Making fun" are all good clean jokes. What good is kidnaping Balochis to us, Not like we can trade them to Saudi Arabia for some oil? Even if your fake stories are true. I'd rather be made fun of than to get shot by your army in the IOK.

Lahore was a Muslim majority city, though it was a very close margin of Sikhs and Hindu's there. The old Mundirs and Gurduwaras are still there and near my house in Lahore there is a Mundir where there is still a Hindu Pundit and a small community of local Hindu's.

Friends i am a proud Indian..i only request brothers not to be too judgemental about the words this man spoke..its not about Hindus and Muslims or India and Pakistan..its the pain of partition which is in the hearts of millions of people who were victims of partition..it is easy for us to say that people migrated from both lands out of their own choice but situation must have been very different then..also for this man it is understandable that when someone sees his childhood house lots of memories flood in and its difficult to control emotions..also there is pain of partition in the hearts of such people from both the nations..at the end of day it is dirty politics which separated both the nations and common people are good in both of these nations...

leder hosen oh janab janab. first of all get your facts right. Hindu population in Pakistan currently is 2% . it was around 13% before 1971 when bangladesh was a part of pakistan known as 'East pakistan' as the majority of hindu population used to reside in bangladesh ie. 11% whereas only 1.6% hindu population belonged to west pakistan .its population dropped in 1971 when bangladesh got separated nd became an independent state so better get some valid information before criticizing others. sources:- en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hinduism_in_Pakistan

Decline[edit] Manora Island Beach, with Varun Dev Mandir visible in the top right corner, Manora Beach, Karachi, Pakistan See also: Persecution of Hindus § Temple Destruction There has been historical decline of Hinduism, Buddhism and Sikhism in the areas of Pakistan. This happened for a variety of reasons even as these religions have continued to flourish beyond the eastern frontiers of Pakistan. The region became predominantly Muslim during the rule of Delhi Sultanate and later Mughal Empire. In general, religious conversion was a gradual process, with many converting to Islam to get rid of the caste system of Hinduism, with some converts attracted to pious Muslim saints, while others converted to Islam to gain tax relief, land grant, marriage partners, social and economic advancement,[34] or freedom from slavery.[35] The predominantly Muslim population supported Muslim League and Pakistan Movement. After the independence of Pakistan in 1947, the minority Hindus and Sikhs migrated to India while the Muslims refugees from India migrated to Pakistan. Approximately 4.7 million Hindus and Sikhs moved to India while 6.5 million Muslims settled in Pakistan. Some Hindus in Pakistan feel that they are treated as second-class citizens and many have continued to migrate to India.[36][37] According to the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan data, just around 1,000 Hindu families fled to India in 2013.[38] In May 2014, a member of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Dr Ramesh Kumar Vankwani, revealed in the National Assembly of Pakistan that around 5,000 Hindus are migrating from Pakistan to India every year.[39] Those Pakistani Hindus who have migrated to India allege that Hindu girls are sexually harassed in Pakistani schools, adding that Hindu students are made to read the Quran and their religious practices are mocked.[40] The Indian government is planning to issue Aadhaar cards and PAN cards to Pakistani Hindu refugees, and simplifying the process by which they can acquire Indian citizenship.[41]Decline[edit] Manora Island Beach, with Varun Dev Mandir visible in the top right corner, Manora Beach, Karachi, Pakistan See also: Persecution of Hindus § Temple Destruction There has been historical decline of Hinduism, Buddhism and Sikhism in the areas of Pakistan. This is heartbreaking. Imagine leaving the country and house you are born in and having high hopes to get reunited in a way just to see it in ruins. I have huge respect and sympathies for people who had to endure partition. The saddest part is even today we don't even acknowledge the trauma partition left on that generation. This is gut wrenching for me to see this old man reliving his childhood trauma and getting disappointed in his life.

Smita Deshmukh - nobody chose to leave his/her home. People were simply forced out. When people lose their things they love most, they get some faint hope or satisfaction of atleast having their lovely memories and they do get huge shocks when they see their lovely memories going up in flames. If Sindhis from India are not able to get visa to go visit Pakistan, people on the western side of the border don't get visas either to visit their homelands. This man is fortunate because he seems to have some western passport. So, if you can't be sympathetic, the least you could do is not be so abrasive.

bigz khan - my friend its not about ur or my personal feelings but bout da facts.1)U should take a look on the Indian Constitution(rights 4 every1) n compare it with Pakistans Constitution(rights only 4 muslims). 2)the number/percentage of minorities increased in india after Partition, for example muslims, from about 9% to 18-20% nowdays but in pakistan exactly the opposite happened.how come!?I wont say Indian democracy is perfect becuz its not but definetely far far far better than a state which is run by military n religion. There were/are atrocities which happened on both sides (both religion) but to compare the atrocities/daily trouble, which minorities in pakistan face, with India is just a joke.N Partition is a joke itself as it just separated not only the hindus but also the muslim population of the sub continent. What a joke..approx.200 million muslims living in pakistan..200 million in India n 150 million in bangaladesh..separated for what!?Just think bout it

So assuming your "hyderabad massacre" even happened ( which is strange as no one.. Including Muslims don't seem to remember it) you people started it first. First treat your own people like baluchis right. You already showed your true colors in Bangladesh . Atleast get your act together now. You Pakistanis are not fit to question the credentials of India. We may have faltered in our commitment but you have absolutely failed. Remember what Jinnah said : you are free to go your mosques and temples and yet today you have blasphemy laws. Remember when you point a finger at others the rest 4 are pointing at you

I was born and live in London, UK and the history of how Britain looted India and other countries is not taught in British schools. It's all about how Churchill and the British defeated Nazi Germany. In fact, they are proud of their colonial past.

I met with two Kashmiris from PoK last week, and when I spoke to them in Kashmiri language they were nonplussed and said they only know Urdu, and even their parents who were born after 1947 do not know how to speak Kashmiri. However, both proudly said that their Grandparents can speak Kashmiri, and I felt sad to see the turmoil in their minds, while realising how Pakistan has destroyed the Kashmiri language in PoK.

Sher Jatt Biharis have taken over the labour and house construction work in Indian Kashmir as well. The locals masons are no longer available and the level of workmanship has gone down drastically. I didn't expect the same in Mirpur and Rawlakot.

I remember when we were constructing our house in Kashmir valley in 1980s. The local mason was like an extended family (Ustad Khalil or Vost Khalil), I must have visited his house umpteen times. He was the one who advised us to leave the Valley in 1990 since 'bad islamic dahshati elements' have infiltrated from Pakistan and that we (Kashmiri Pandits) are no longer safe.
