Man I LITERRALLY Just Finished Catching up to Arc 8 BECAUSE of your Video and... There is stuff I love about it but theres also a LOT that feels OFF or "Missing" in comparison to the vibes of earlier arcs... and... Even If I just rambled as I listened to your arguments which I appreciated how deeply you got as an ACTUAL PERSON (since MANY Pretend their views are objective fact and Not Subjective only to their personal experiences, etc. ) I Really appreciated How In Depth you got on what you Loved, Were Disappointed by, Related To, etc. BECAUSE Not Enough People Even frame their Opinions or views about Fiction in ways where they have awareness that its Just their Personal Feelings for which some might have similar Feelings, etc. And to be Frank, as a One Piece weekly reader that varies in how active I am around whichever crowds, OP-tubers, etc. I have to say it was MAYBE Cute the first few times I heard people declare "Bruh this is PEAK Fiction!" or whatever EVERY Week.... ...and ALSO the amount people use the Term W and L to summarise things without enough clarity, etc. But My god has it got Excessively Irritating to hear people call things Peak Fiction in past 2 years where they ACTUALLY Mean it as though its fact or literal or whatever.. (cant even remember if Im using the term literal correctly anymore because of Internet English being such a bleeding mess) But I really appreciate how you frame your opinions and, even defend that which SHOULDNT REQUIRE any Defence, but... well... People are Opnionated beyond what's Mentally Healthy, etc. so.... What am I gonna do about it besides get told by bots how people can't read my comment because its Slightly longer than Twitter Allows (240 characters, or less than can communicate meaningful ideas with Depth) But in summary Talking on Twitter is PROBABLY the Largest Issue for Differences of Opinion on Any Fiction or Politics in general... and ofter people will whine about things without even realising they hold nearly identical viewpoints which they've been forced to shorten to fit Twitter Lengths for Communication... thus THINK they disagree because of need for conflict/etc. which Would be funny if it wasnt so tragic... In summary. I agree on many of your points though Do see how Re Zero arc 8 can get more interesting, though a Lot of times it feels like great plotpoints were dropped and things go back to what FEELS Formulaic when not touched up adequately in the translation, etc. when I can only Hope there are some fancy complex shintobuddhist Japanese Multilingual Wordplay games on the Levels of last century's Military Intelligence codes or something... But not everything is as Complex as One Piece can APPEAR when Broken down to Gorôūwásé or whatever... hehe But Any time someone says Peak Fiction I have to pause and hold for a moment to determine whether they're just exxaggerating to fit the OTHER People Generally Praising a Chapter of a story OR they Really convince themselves any time people they trust more than themselves call something Peak Fiction or whatever.... The Phrase is Sad. It's reductive and the implications of the term even when used in jest Still lead people to think "ah this weeks chapter is meant to be Good..." or "Oh my god, our Saviour/Prophet/etc. has blessed us with the Holy Texts again and ANYONE Who Doesn't Blindly Praise the Writer is NOW My MORTAL ENEMY!" which Honestly is stuff I hear people say nearly exactly and without much exxageration to how far they really go in trashtalking anyone who disagrees or says "not bad but I wish that bit had been handled a bit better becau----" and then get cut off of course, so that their opinion isnt Heard before its denied! : D Typical 2020s issues from my pespective, I suppose... But just focusing on our own objective feelings and opinions is a good way to stay true to the art we even enjoy or consume. So I really appreciated hearing These kinds of takes on a Series I generally enjoy and also the issues effecting MANY Online Fanbases which are So Busy Fighting themselves over minor differences of opinion, etc. (Don't even get me started on Fan Theorists Fighting over whose theory is Trash or whatever label is hip that week... though it CAN Be funny when its not Personal and you arent personally defending or sharing ideas with people that CANT accept others' ideas...and Im flashbacking people arguing how Trash others' theories are and getting told I was a Problem for simply arguing that a "Bad Theory" wasn't disproven or Impossible just because they thought it was lame or too obvious, etc... if people remember the ZKK theory and I even Jokingly Defended it and a big name Didnt understand the joke til someone explained it to them... but.. Man is Re: Zero my favourite Break from One Piece discussions for past few years... ) Cheers man! Peak Perspective in my book, yeah!? : D

People saying peak, flawless, or whatever else is just vernacular people use to hype their favorite series. There is no such thing, because humans are flawed individuals. I think flaws always exist and its healthy to mention them in things you like. But I think its disingenuous to feel defensive when people critically acclaim a series. Re Zero has flaws, its my favorite anime of all time. Subaru is my favorite protagonist of all time. But I think the series does have some flaws. Arc 4 has pacing issues that fuck with the flow at times, mitigated by the LN. Arc 3 has a few issues as well, arc 2 is honestly a really sound arc. Yea its not groundbreaking or crazy, but its very solid and has not as many problems with pacing or character motivations. But theres a reason people love particular anime and shows. I personally dont gaf when people call something peak. Its just hype talk man. And theres a lot of great things about media where people do gas em up a bit more than others.

honestly I am sort of guilty of calling my favorite shows peak fiction and the like, and I do think considering them such is fine. But I do agree that its not a great idea to tell people that and raise their expectations so high when your preferences arent exactly the same. I dont really mind if other people dislike series or characters I like, but I would feel bad if I ruined their experience by raising their expectations like that. I tend to get way too excited talking about the things I like, I'll keep in mind next time I reccomend re:zero to someone :)

I think that's normal, it's just when people get very emotional over people not agreeing with them and starting to be toxic is when I have a problem. If something is "peak fiction" in your eyes, that's totally fine as long as you aren't trying to push it down people's throats you know what I mean haha

If you truly love something, you criticize it more strictly than other things, because you truly want it to succeed and reach its peak. It's what we call "tough love". I criticize and dislike Arc 7, and truly want Re:Zero to become great again, like it used to be. People telling others "if you don't like it then leave", don't understand that if we do leave, the already in decline fanbase will be reduced even further. Re:Zero is on life support right now, until Season 3 comes out in a year or so. And let me ask you this: After Season 3, then what? How could they possibly adapt Arcs 7 and 8? They'd need 80+ episodes, adapt a bunch of side stories and EX novels, and people just wouldn't care for the Vollachians as much as they do for the main cast. I'm truly worried for the future of Re:Zero, but I sincerely want it to succeed and make me return. But I don't see that happening anytime soon.
