Melanie Slay yes please!! I had had enough! I got off work at a good time and wasnt yet hungry enough for lunch so I told myself as soon as I was hungry I’d stop. But I didnt! I just kept going until I had finished my block. Sadly two or three days later it was back to being filthy from wind and more careless people. But for a moment, it was clean!

On a similar note... I saw a flyer for a "missing baby bouncer" that was left in Fish Creek Park. I do not feel bad for whoever left it, because 1... irresponsible to just leave something like that (baby products aren't cheap) and 2... come on... if you left it behind you essentially left your trash behind in a park. How can you "forget" something so large and also expect it to just be there when you go back, it's not your back yard, it's a public space. I try to pick up things as I see them, but currently getting more and more difficult to bend down to pick things up. I want my baby girl to grow up seeing the beauty in nature, not littered with trash.

Actually, last week at uni I started picking up cigarette butts where my friends group sits and I found an almost full pack of cigarettes! So like, I think that even if you do little things, you get rewarded.

My boyfriend and I went on a hike and people left behind so much trash. He used to be a boy scout, and also he's just a decent human being who believes in trash cans. He picked up all the trash he could. Someone had even left bags of dog poop all over. This really irritated him because that's the point of the bag. It's to take it with you. And then I got to the entrance of the trail and I got pissed. There were free trash bags. All these people were littering, and they were provided with trash bags. They didn't even have to buy them. If you don't want to carry it out, don't carry it in.

Other ways to help the planet: -instead of Google you could use ecosia, they plant trees for every so and so search and they also engage in other good work towards the planet! -consider trying "too good to go" if it's available in your country. It's an app where you can buy delicious food (vegan, with meat, vegetarian etc..) that otherwise has to be thrown away for WAY cheaper!

Funny thing about this is there used to be a team of Superhero lookin dudes that would help clean up our city every spring/summer. I think they called themselves The Katalysts or somethin? Real Life Superheroes are apparently a thing all around North America. The world could definitely use more of them.

In Latvia every April there is so called "Lielā Talka". It is nationally organized, government funded event, were people just gather together and pick up trash all around the contrite. You can join official clean up places or create your own event. It has been happening since 2008 and is gaining popularity every year. This year it will be on April 27.

I don't know if this is just my area or if it's an English thing but we don't have much rubbish around on the roads and my local city now has something for cigarette butts on lampposts which is great my local city is very big on lowering waste and using biodegradable and eco friendly products which is soooo good

Cigarette butts litter makes me so angry, I know it’s something so small but still. Next to drug paraphernalia litter. I like the Midwest , meth central and there’s needles what seems like every where. Single serve plastic needs to stop being on option. Good for you for doing this. Livingdeadgirll you are so right about the water. Water is so very important and people take advantage of it. Everyone and everything thing needs it to live. One of the rivers in the next town go so polluted from storm from run the city started new programs that investigated a couple of business near it that weren’t doing that right thing. Lots of fines for them. I always wonder why people just can’t put them out and place them in their pockets to threw them away. Empowering the younger generation is so important nowadays. We gotta change world one tiny human at a time.
