I went to the coronation cafe just by Glasgow cross on Sunday whilst I was waiting on my bike getting fixed at the saltmarket. I ordered a fried breakfast consisting of Black pudding, beans, a large unbattered chip shop style pork sausage, fried egg, potato scone, hash brown & bacon. I had a plate of chips on the side too & a pot of tea. I had Gold star brown chip shop sauce on the fry up and on the large plate of chips I had gold star tomato chip shop sauce with salt & vinegar. I had an ice cold can of iron brew to finish .

When my brother and dad were around I’m the late 90s we Used to go to the chapel street market. Always vibrant then. And have fish and chips in a nice fish bar there. All butchers sausages are different. you put crap ingredients in you get crap sausages. just by saying butchers doesn't make them any better. I've had decent factory produced sausages.

All butchers use superior ingredients why would they not they have a reputation to keep especially in these hard economic times obviously you’ll get an occasional one that might not be great but nothing is 100% brilliant everywhere but in general they’ll be better than a catering one. Agree you get some good factory made sausages especially ones for M&S , Sainsbury’s etc but most cafes will use the cheaper ones in general 👍🏻

Looks nice, eggs look nicely done. Shame about the sausages. I have the opposite problem, two cafes near me have nice sausages but even though I ask for the eggs to be runny, a lot of time they over cook them. Last week I lost my patience and complained about one of the eggs which was like a boiled egg. Hopefully after having to replace it, they might get the message.

Man after my own heart, I'll help anyone if I possibly can, even paying for the shortage of a bill in the shops or supermarkets which I have done on more than one occasion.
