Thise toilet pans were very common in the 50's & 60's primrose yellow siphonic sold as a quiet flush and also on alot of properties such as flats they were connected to 3" soil systems which were cheaper to install for obvious reasons. That's where the 4"multiquiks with 3" outlets came in. As they sucked the contents out they could install smaller soil pipe. Thats why in the states its all 3" Some soil stacks were prefabbed galv steel all welded & some were pitch fibre 🙈. The outlet was normally on the bottom some were either 90° left or right as well. This design was used alit in victorian times especially in Brighton where I'm from. I had the the task of changing syphon washers on these & they were made of China also with leatherette washers that would eventually perish!! The aerjec valves sat inside the syphon were the worse as you couldn't get any replacement parts as the mushroom washer would fallapart when you took them out !! Yes it is an odd toilet and we're laughing about the guy wanting to sell it but you'd be surprised how much some of this old stuff can fetch. I went to work in Wales for my brother in law back in the 80's as a sparky/plumber, he was a builder and on the old renovation jobs he would save some of the bathroom stuff especially the baths because he had a contact who would buy from him. The first one I helped him with we were able to slide it right off the upstairs floorboards (as there was no outer back wall in place) and lowered it into the garden on a rope and man it was heavy, it nearly pulled us right off the edge and into the sheer drop into the garden. I thought silly bugger he'll get 20 quid for it. He handed me a wad of notes the next day and said "here's your share". He sold it for hundreds and many more followed. His contact would ship them to the US, he named his price and they paid the shipping. He also sold a lot in the UK to interior designers working for rich clients. These millionaire clients want original authentic stuff not reproduction. I think your old toilet may make it as a garden planter as it's got class, not like the old 60 quid toilet and basin sets B&Q used to sell, I think they would have been before your time though young un. Great vid mate, I notice never sweat dad didn't take his jacket off till half way through.

I hate plumbing, I have nightmares about it. I wake up hearing running water. 😵💫😵💫😵💫 I get jobs done another one gets created (hard water so deposits get disturbed every damn time anything gets done) Guys I thought were decent never respond to messages. One never billed rather than come back to check a ball valve in the loft was ok. Probably suspected another issue he didn’t want to get involved with. 😤

@@Heatking sorry for the disrespect I'm not a plumber by trade but have sold to plumbers all my life like 41 years so you can see how many manufacturer's and sales reps i have spoke to about there products over time and passed there tips , what could go wrong , how things are done , how to do it to plumbers over time . your dad will tell you that , were do you think he learnt new things ( on a counter ) . its amazing over time how many plumbers and customers have asked me a sales assistant on a counter for my advice when things go wrong or to put right as well as me asking all my life questions to 100000 of plumbers how is that done . like i said no disrespect its just my view on it . but there is just one thing i want to ask why is it millennials dont like been told how to do things the right way off older people but still keep the knowledge that they have just been told 😃
