I love how Knower has low key tricked thousands of people into being fans of jazz.

Love the krantz style, let’s just go half time outta nowhere and play part of the chip tune outta tune ish keys solo for a sec than back to double time or original time so multiple peeps can crap their pants, then some kicks to the balls type hits on the E’s and A’s thang for more fun during the drum n bass sextion 🤓👍❤️

Honest question (not trying to be argumentative, genuinely curious): Do we know that Louis Cole writes all the music himself? All Knower songs are credited to both him and Genevieve Artadi. She's a pretty kickass songwriter in her own right (her compositions on Forever Forever are awesome), so I'd be surprised if she had a hands-off-the-music approach. Does she really only do the lyrics?

@@echocollectors Yeah as far as I know it's a 50/50 collaboration between Coles and Artadi and probably varies a bit from song to song... Artadi is not just a pretty face, I'm not going to look it up but pretty sure she studied music at university, from memory she also teaches. She is a top notch composer, as you note Forever Forever is amazing.

@@deathisaprimitiveconcept Thanks for the response. Since (belatedly) discovering Knower just a couple of months ago, I've been listening a lot to their stuff and also LC and GA's solo stuff, and it definitely sounds to me like a collaborative project, inasmuch as the Knower stuff sounds different compositionally from either's solo work, but also sounds like it has strong influences from the two. But, it seems like every Knower video on YT has comments crediting LC 100% for the music, so I was starting to wonder: did I miss something, or is this just typical dudes being dudes and instinctually giving all the credit to the dude?
@deathisaprimitiveconcept10 ай бұрын
@@echocollectors Yeah I had the same thought regarding Cole's and Artadi's solo work, and how Knower... like it's not "Louis Cole with singer"... but yeah I think that's why a lot of people assume that Cole is the leader, they see a singer and assume that they are "just a singer"... by coincidence I'm only just discovering Knower/Cole/Artadi recently too... discovered via Chiquita Magic, who features on Forever Forever but also on a recent project by one of my favourite artists, John Hollenbeck's Letters to George. Funnily enough he is also a drummer/composer that works with a lot of talented composer/vocalists... Theo Bleckman being a huge one.
