He was 53 years old when he did this concert in Bercy, Paris in 2004. Truly an amazing performance by Brad Cole (keyboards, synthesizers, Vocoder), Daryl Stuermer (6 String Guitar), Leland Sklar (Bass Guitar), Chester Thompson ("Rhythm" Drums) and Phil himself (vocals, drums). It was performed in front of 20,000 + people at the "Palais Omnisport de Paris" and truly was, if not the greatest, close to the greatest live performance ever. It was from his "Finally... The First Farewell" Tour and this particular concert in Bercy started with an amazing "Drums, Drums & More Drums" track performed by Phil and his other drummer, the previously mentioned Mr. Thompson. Incidentally, this track ("In the Air Tonight") was the 17th in the tracklist sandwiched between Separate Lives and Dance into the Light. Phil had the energy he had in this song all the way through to the end of the concert (as did his musicians). Now that he can no longer drum, his son NIcholas plays drums almost as well as the old man did--literally--Phil is in his 70's now. His son was on the Domino tour with Genesis recently. Oh and of course, his daughter Lily is rapidly becoming a famous actress in her own right. So, he's still doing alright I suppose (tongue in cheek).

I've been a huge Phil Collins fan since I was writing "Phil Collins is God!" on my HS notebooks in th '80s. I'm from the U.S. so I don't think he'll care what I say, but perhaps if enough people from the UK ask him King Charles will finally knight this genius. I think it's long overdo that he be called Sir Phil Collins!

This is a great performance, and Phil Collins rocks truckloads of socks. But if you want to see someone singing while playing the drums, through the whole song, back before they had headset mikes so he was leaning to one side to sing into a stationary mike while drumming, check out "I'm in Love With My Car," Queen, from the Montreal concert in '81. Hey, if you really like quality live songs, then you may ( or may not ) like to listen to Nightwish Ghost Love Score ! The official video is kzbin.info/www/bejne/gIrNep9-jKd0jNE They are a Symphonic Metal band, but they may surprise you =). I have seen other hip hop artists react to this song, and absolutely loved it. If your delving into the past, there is another song in mind that will surprise you called Stay by Shakespears Sister. * Edit note to this one, watch the official ( Not Live ) version of this otherwise you may not get what the song is fully about *

Hi, Guy! I've said this before, but the main thing about covid and concerts now is how do we get back to these crowds safely! back in the day, this was how you knew that you really made it! by how many thousands could hold in one arena to see you!...and I do mean thousands!

Also, if you want something hard and different that could get you a reaction and thousands of subs, do Losing My Life and Popular Monster by Falling in Reverse. You won’t be disappointed. The artist watches reactions on Twitch and tells his followers to sub if he likes you.
