A ride with a stream crossing-living the life!

Interesting bikes. Wish we got closer looks at each. I ride rim brakes with alloy rims. Where I live, it pours. I have even ridden waterlogged roads. Never felt the brakes were out of their depth. Perhaps the only time this may happen is going downhill very fast in pouring rain.

Thank you! Which bike did you want to see a closer view?

@@Henrywildeberry after seeing all these new age carbon bikes on most media all the time, seeing steel or horizontal top tubes or cantilever brakes instantly draws my attention. You only offered fleeting glimpses of each bike. One had the seat stays joining the seat lug towards the front. One bike had a snazzy paint job. So... all.

@@PrabuddhaDasGupta1966 You and me both! The moment I see a new carbon bike review I instantly fall asleep. It's even worse when I see a factory tour of a carbon bike manufacturer.

I came across this video today and the first thing I did was check when the video was made. I thought the video was 20 years old. Rim brakes work, sort of. Kinda like Fred Flintstone.

Rim brakes are rad!

Cool Video

I agree, the video was too short. I smiled at the stream crossing, which I did last year (90s mtb with drops) and then it was over! Maybe just a little longer on the shorts?

Thank you! I thought I would experiment with a shorter video since it's not something I normally do.

The same type of ride what we have here in San Diego. (BWR San Diego)

Nothing like a good mixed terrain ride through north county

Does your bike have a small hole in the bottom of the BB shell to let the water drain out?
@Henrywildeberry7 ай бұрын
No, not on this bike. The only hole is the threaded hole for the cable guide.

Even in dry conditions, every time you squeeze the brakes you're wearing away a structural component of your bike. It makes no sense. After 50 years of riding I will never buy another rim brake bike. Nice video though, those are my favorite rides!
@johnhinderliter93827 ай бұрын
I wish I could post a pic of the rims that have failed/exploded when they got worn down too thin. Gimme disc brakes any day.

Very unhappy with the video, anything under 30 min is unacceptable. 😂😂

Lol! It took all my will power to upload this short video. It felt so wrong. I'll make up for it with a 2 hour long monologue.
