Obviously hindsight is 20/20, but I feel like in round 3 game 3, a play we had available was Ghost Quarter our own Tranquil Thicket and grab it back with Loam so that we have a way to dodge Surgical.

Out-stilling the standstill player was pretty awesome. The yavimaya addition and extra copies of boseiju definitely did work here. I also liked how much more utilitarian the wish package was, and I think those extra couple slots for saga in the board were worth it. Kinda wish we had seen a reanimator matchup to test the cage / Karakas plan.

here's a suggestion: Expedition map is a must have in my opinion, having the ability to turn any saga into any land has won me many games I would have otherwise lost. walk in closet is also an interesting card to consider.

I think this deck probably wants a one of lair of the hydra to diversify threats a bit and make surgical less game ending. Also a turn one green source that can just turn into a fireball in the right circumstances.

There needs to be an expedition map in the main for saga tutor it gets a land you need at that time instead of just grabbing a bauble it’s a 5th card that grows constructs too. I’m gonna play this deck tonight with a map, a lair of the hydra, and 3 sagas in main. I’m interested in a black splash for urborg to make maze and tabby tap more often and you get assails trophy for problem permanents that way you can just answer a creature at instant speed which honey doesn’t do, I feel like aggro would be tough the red decks and eldrazi would be hard matchups extra answer to a moon in the main and a creature is nice. I wonder is slyvan library would be nice as like a 2 of. Playing black would open the deck up to being even worse to blood moon cause you’d have to play fetches and bayou but you have multiple answers

I'm surprised this deck never is in danger of milling out except vs painter, as well as how effective it is vs basics. Plus I would think Living Wish would get countered a lot more often or that we'd see more grave hate in the meta. It obviously still has weaknesses, but it's surprisingly good

I just can't comprehend why we want 4 tabernacle in the 75. I get 1 main and 1 side, but wouldn't crop rotation be a better fill in for the other 2? or even 2 mox diamonds instead? I get they fill different roles but seeing you get flooded on them in the first match really made it awkward.

would something like Malevolent Rumble be worth having in here? it does only get you one card back, but it can be any permanent, and it gives you back one of your mana in the form of an Eldrazi Spawn, which could also be a blocker if need be

I wonder if you could have played it out against the blue painter wincon. You would have life from the loam to skip 3 draw steps at minimum, and they could have killed themselves to the ring, especially if you kill their mana.

Unfortunately that's not how Dredge works. If you don't have at least 3 cards in your library, you can't choose to dredge loam.

Milling the cards is the cost of dredging, so if you have less than 3 cards in library you can't dredge Loam, unfortunately.
