Damn man so well done. You had me rolling with some of the images and videos. This is the best Meteor review to date by a long shot. Spot on with everything and helped a lot about how feel towards them click into words. A lot of my music is very rhythmic driven and that’s why I like Meteor so much. I’m also more into flowing with the rhythm even if at the expense of midrange being recessed. Probably explains why I like the UP so much also.

My library adjusts to what I'm using, nice to have some contrast with the HD650.

Well this certainly is a 550€ niche set, just based on tuning. Not sure I would go for that when sets like the ThieAudio Oracle exist in the same bracket. Nice review Jay! Thanks

How’s the this compared against Xenns top? Deciding between these two, and polyphia is definitely one of my fav bands. Is the bass here better than top?

Ya bass wise Meteor is much juicier and slams harder

I'm looking for a new set of iems myself, I want something a little different but it doesn't necessarily need to play well with every genre, I have my main music taste being rap/hip-hop, rnb, Hyperpop, math rock and some jazz occasionally. My current lineup includes the Campfire Andomeda 2020, Blessing 2 Dusk and the Dioko. In terms of coherence I want something with good layering for voices and instruments and something that is fun sounding, not analytical but a warm sound that sort of complements what I have already for the times I want a bit more bass, I do enjoy harman but don't exactly have a real idea of my preferred sound sig as the andros continue to satisfy me for most if not all my music. The current iems I have interest in are the Symphonium Meteors, the Xenns Tops and the Mega 5Est.

great video! im looking for a new set, specifically something really exiting but still versatile (i only own neutral iems). i mostly listen to idm (aphex twin, boards of canada), rock (usually live recordings) and experimental hip hop (lil ugly mane, death grips). because of this my focus is on soundstage/imaging/separation and tonality. would you rec this set? or is there anything better for me ~500? willing to go up to 700 if need be :). ty!

Best tech and tuning under $1K would be the 7th Acoustic Supernova (contact them on facebook), but it's more neutral and not the funnest, otherwise I'd go with Maestro Mini for a basshead set, or Meteor is fine too if you want something warm and mid-bass centric.

I forgot to ask which IEM is more detailed: The Meteor or UP? I think all that pseudo air past 10k will give the Meteor more clarity, not sure if more resolution per se. Can't decide which one I'll get soon along with another kilobuck IEM that has a clinical tonality.
@jayyaudio
@jayyaudio Жыл бұрын
Clarity is mainly due to great separation and low-masking. Resolution/perception of note sharpness is more influenced by the treble. An IEM with a smooth and extended FR (low dips and peaks and no mid-bass masking) will have the best detail. Both have some sort of valley (dips) and mid-bass masking, but overall I'd say the Meteor has better extended/clear treble region, whereas the vocals and low-end/mids on the UP is cleaner and easier to pick out.

@jayaudio How do they compare to the 64 Audio Trio? Big difference in price but we all know 64a is tremendously overpriced so 2300 US dollars is about the same as 600 China dollars. I don’t care, I just want to know how they compare (Trio being my favourite tune out there).
