I think he took the risk. He saw he died midway in the bar and saw someone die near the bottom, so he made the assumption the psychopath probably made a small opening near the top. My question is... Why didn't he equip the shellmet, spin jump across and use the shellmet to tank damage and guess it easy? Perhaps he didn't think about it :O
