I work at Decathlon in France. Some people spit on Decathlon products, but they only consider the cheapest range of products, designed to be reachable for most poor people. But if you look higher range, there is some really good products. The main goal of Decathlon is to provide sport equipment to as much people as possible. Here in France, my dad remember when Decathlon arrived in the 80s. It was a revolution. Sport equipment became sudenly accessible for a reasonnable price, but with a good quality, good design and a huge range of products. It's not perfect, but it's really good. Nowadays, Decathlon continue to make innovations, like the inflatable camping tents, where you can mount a huge 8 places tente where you can stand tall, with a vestibule and several rooms, in less than 5 minutes just plugging a air pump. They have also, on all their camping tents, designed a infrared reflective providing quasi complete darkness, and freshness on day inside the tent. And it's like 100€ for a 3 places tent. They tend to use 100% recycled plastic, they invented a dye method to use half less water, etc. Yes I work at Decathlon, and I'm proud of it.

I've got to the 2 person version of this kit and I love it. It's perfect for trips away on my motorbike. I've removed one of the cups and that gives me enough space to a carry a small gas bottle and stove inside it. I carry my coffee grounds wrapped in foil inside the remaining cup and a soto filter holder slips I've the bag underneath the pans beautifully. 👍

There are some clver details in the design of the components. The metal bottoms are clad to sandwich an aluminum bottom layer between 2 stainless steel layers. That will heat more evenly, and will stick less. The plates have grips. The silicone fastener doubles as a trivet. The lid fits the pot or pan. The entire thing holds together as a secure , non-rattly bundle. Very clever.

People commonly think aluminum is for non corrosion but the main property is heat conduction, yep. Aluminum transfers heat extremely quickly through itself. So it sucks heat in faster and outputs it faster.

I think, those holes in the plates are for sticking one of the utensils. That's my theory, since for example Light My Fire bowls feature a hole, where you can stick LMF spork.

The holes in the side of the plate and cups, will they fit the handle of the silverware to hold it vertically? Maybe so you dont have to set your silverware on a dirty log or ground? Stir coffee set the spoon in the handle hole while you do something else temporarily or in the plate while you have a drink with dinner.

It's a good set that also works on induction hobs if you're glamping. The cups are too small about half the size of a regular cup and don't fit in cup holders due to their shape. The knives aren't the greatest either if you're trying to cut through meat. On the whole it's compact and good value for money though.

Thanks so much for this product review video! I found this cookset absolutely amazing! One thing to bear in mind after my first experience using the saucepan with the lid, is that the lid can get melt if the fire source is very strong and broad. I have the lid peripheral got slightly melted.

Luke👍👍 Looks good from here, the major issue for me would be the non stick surface but that's just me. The rest of the kit seems to compliment, the cups might be replaced by something more robust and the cutlery as well....minor. Good size pot, pan and plates, the "trivet" seems adequate. Plastic is the one thing that would need scrutiny, I've never found it to hold up but if cared for and not rough handled, probably will work especially for non back packing use. Price seems fair and packed size is nice. Great review, thanks.

Here in Hungary the Decathlon is the most affordable source of sports goods and even their budget products rarely have quaility issues. I mainly buy clothes, shoes and all sorts of bagpacks from there, but last time I bought a small kayak too. Their camping-kitchen selection here is not really wide and focusing only car-camping. We can say that the bushcraft section is their blind spot, it is not exist. If you need any good tool, knife, axe, saw, water filter, bushcraft/hiking style kitchen gadget you wont buy there.
