IU is famous for her acting and asked a famous director she’d worked with before, who did Concrete Utopia, to direct it. It’s why it’s got a special high artistic feel. She really went all out. It was amazing watching her taking ti the director about who they could possibly tap as the lead actor. They couldnt think of anyone with the whimsical vulnerability and acting chops they needed till she thought of Taehyung. So she asked and one week before enlisting last min he did this extremely physically demanding shoot two days shoot. They were like cute siblings behind the scenes. It’s damn art but that ending special feature credit is damn trolling us 😂😂😂

IU voice is so ethereal and alluring I can’t. Their acting was so well done and everything was pieced together perfectly. The pile of clothes gave me IT vibes when he take them and their clothes and items be left behind.

IU is truely one of the greatest artist in the history of kpop...a truly talented and loved artist...so many kpop artist have mentioned her as their role model....she debuted in year 2008 at the age of 15 and at that too from a relatively smaller company and yet here she is still rulling the hearts of so many people at the age of 31.....she has some absolutely hit kdramas...you gotta check out 1. hotel del luna 2. my mister 3. moon lovers also iu has previously had collab with suga with her song ''eight'' and suga's song ''people pt. 2'' which i guess you've already reacted to she also appeared at suchwita plz check it out and also jungkook....back in 2014 or 2015 named iu as his ideal type woman....no surprise so many idol have a huge crush on her...

LOVE THE MV AND IU'S VOCALS. V'S ACTING WITH IU WAS SO EMOTIONAL AND IMPACTFUL. Love the song and MV they were both so important to the storyline. I haven't heard much of IU, I know who she is, but loved seeing V.

The director did say viewers can have their own interpretation. The camcorder serves as a filter and allows imagination to roam freely. Everything is imagination through the camcorder. Reality resumes when you see their wounds and tattered clothes. In the end, the two of them are seen ascending to a better place through the camcorder, while they are eradicated in reality. So sad. So beautiful. So brutally real.

i basically cried every time I watched it, both on my own and when I watched reactions, this is the first time I didn't but the MV really is a masterpiece as well as/combined with IU's vocals and the whole song, it's so grand

IU fandom name : Uaena IU/Lee Ji-eun is a South Korean actress, singer, songwriter and record producer. She debuted in 2008 with her 1st EP or 1st Album "Lost and Found". IU is called "Nation's Little Sister". I love her music so much. She is one of my favorite solo artists. She is such a beauty ! I really adore her.

The cube 'Nemo' represents the discrimination towards marginalized people (symbolized in IU being mute and Taehyung being blind in one eye). They stayed together till the end with their love sustained, free from all oppression and pressure from society. LOVE WINS ALL!

I guess nobody is a Treke in Star Trek there is an alien race called the Borge their space ship is a cube and they traveled through space and assimilated other races. There message is “Resistance is futile you will be assimilated” and you become part of the collective like a bee hive with the Queen. That’s was my take of the cube. MV beautiful and sad I get emotional every time 💜

First FYI IU wrote the lyrics and produced the MV. So she is the creator of the concept, the story and the vision. Next, neither one is deaf. This is clearly shown several times at the start of the video. They both react independently of eachother to the sound of the cube moving overhead. Once when they are running and stop and then again when they enter the building and look up. Then a 3rd time when the cube enters the room at the wedding scene. Now IU does appear to be mute, which would explain her using sign language. But this video is NOT about disabilities or discrimination. For starters discrimination is a synonym for hate. And the that claim makes no sense within the context of the MV, the lyrics, or anything IU has stated about the song or MV. This MV is about Love and Love Winning despite everything. To reduce this beautiful visual and vocal message to a singular type of hate or behavior towards a single group demeans the entire story and is actually quite offensive. I appears to me that people who have taken the message of discrimination away from this video have totally failed to think their claim through. For example, if the cubes are only after the disabled, then where are the rest of the people? One person argued that the cubesxseen to be able to detect who the people with disabilities are. Now that's is perhaps the most ridiculous claim. Since these two are the only ones left, at least in this area, where the evidence for that claim? There is none. But it appears that claim is made to because, how does the cube know that a person is mute or blind. There are a lot of disabilities that you can see a person has even at a distance, for example being in a wheel chair, using a walker etc, but being blind in one eye or being mute or deaf for that matter are not disabilities that you can see at a distance or even up close. And we have no information as to when these issue came to be. At birth, in childhood or in an other encounter with a cube. By claiming that this is about disabilities it then makes the disability and bigotry and prejudice the subject of the MV and the message. But that is clearly not the intend. There is no mention or even suggestion in the lyrics about disabilities or the hardship of living with a disability none. In IU's letter post on the EDAM site she talks about the video and the message. The focus is on Love not hate. IU states that she is "telling a story about those who struggle to love when then world gets in the way." It is a universal message not a message directed at one group and blames another. In fact, the use of the cube to represent evil is a metaphor for a generalized evil, a non descript evil. Let's look at another aspect that destroys the disability discrimination claim. That claim begs the question, where are all of the non disabled people? If people with disabilities were the target why are the cubes destroying the entire city? Where are the items that the disabled commonly use, the wheelchairs, canes, walkers, artificial limbs? There are none anywhere. Love is not a physical thing. IU says Love is invisible. So there is no expectation that Love is going to physically defeat the cubes, which is what love winning apparently means to many people. But that is exactly the opposite of the message IU is telling. Hate consumes and divides to drive love out of the world. Hate can only destroy. Hate also believes that winning is destroying the physical. But hate is wrong and these two prove it wrong. Just because hate is stupid to know it. Once hate destroys the physical representation of Love it ALWAYS turns on itself, ALWAYS. And destroys itself. And love will always be. I will say it again discrimination is not a synonym for hate or loneliness. In fact everyone discriminates everyday of their lives. Making a choice is being discriminating. Picking your clothes for the day, deciding what to eat, who to go to lunch with, who your friends are etc etc etc. None of these discriminating decisions are based on hate. The word that these people actual mean is bigotry. Bigotry is synonymous with hate. It is a targeted hate towards a particular group of people. But when you claim that is the message here you replace the message being about Love and turn into a message about hate. IU identities hate with being alone. Always alone. The only mention in the lyrics that has anything to do with hate is when she is wanting the the antonym of loneliness. Which IU says Loves is relentlessly together. This is a case where people are jumping to a conclusion without applying any single critical thought or considering the entirety of the MV. Actually that itself says more about those people than it does about the MV. In any event glad to finally have you at least looking into the IU rabbit hole. It is deep and wonderous. Did you know that Rolling Stone Magazine, last January, added IU to there list of the 200 Greatest Singers of All Time? They did.
