Yes. He was smart yea but he won because of his heavenly pact, he got no curse energy and was able to stay undetected even during the flights plus his extraordinary physical abilities making him superhuman, he was special like Yuki said

20:53 right, it wouldn't have been this bad if they were together, remember when Riko died and the Star Religious Group were literally clapping and celebrating while Gojo held her lifeless body, at that time Gojo tells Geto, what if I kill all these humans and Geto was stunned and said there's no point but both both of them were low-key feeling the same and were traumatized after that mission and at the end we see Gojo (who wanted to do that at one point) managing to stay sane but Geto lost himself

I think Satoru did see him change a little and asked but didn't realise the intensity and Geto didn't answer honestly plus them having to go on separate missions didn't help either. Would things be different if they communicated better I wonder, Geto was really broken and lone it breaks my heart.

So basically the village adults tortured and jailed the little kids cus they thought they were the cause of the evil in the village while it was their own aggression that led to the curses to form and the girl could just see them. Geto knowing this tries to explain to the villagers but they refuse to listen. Geto already emtionally unstable picks a side there and then. ”Who am I doing this for”?

Poor Geto. All these unfortunate circumstances piled up on Geto until he couldn't take it anymore. Seeing those kids blamed by "monkeys" for something they didn't do was the last straw. Jujutsu High really needed to hire Therapists. It'd solve so many problems.

Geto couldn't keep watching his friends die. I know his ideals were absurd but then it's the only solution he could've find to get rid of curses. He wasn't going to push through with it until those villagers accused children of committing crimes they didn't do and wanted him to get rid of the children so he snapped.
