Everyone from Memphis was proud and excited ! She’s from Memphis and had a number one hit on the Billboard Top 100! The three hottest songs of the summer of 1979 was this and Donna Summer’s “Hot Stuff” and “ Bad Girls” 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥! She went on to be a school teacher but to this day she still performs Ring My Bell around the world!

Anita Ward turned to teaching after her short music career. My 6th grade teacher loved this song. We had lunch in our classroom, because of not having a cafeteria. Being allowed to listen to records during lunch, if this song was playing, she would come in and begin dancing. There was a great slow song at the same time called *"Cruisin"* by Smokey Robinson you might like...

the thing about music back then is that, like most things, it was made to last. singers had to be able to sing the song live, so what you heard on the album is what you heard live. another thing is the music was recorded live. when the artist performed in concert, it was with a full band and singers. that's why most of the people from that era can still the very same song today.
