Sinead O'Connor was laid to rest on Tuesday. Hundreds of locals and fans of the singer gathered outside her former house, Montebello, where she had lived for 15 years, after her family asked that people stand along the Strand Road for “a last goodbye”.

We all saw news on tv that Sinead died on 26th July,and all tv inform us for funeral and yesterday we saw on Bray how people gave respect to her.. But stil my brain can't accept that Sinead is real died and that she is not present on this world. Somehow in front of my eyes stay her last video in flat in London,and when she inform us how will soon start with tour in Australia,then in Europe..I was so happy to hear that..And somehow I stil see her how she is going on stage with big smile,and look on the audience and start to sing,complitely focus on songs...With voice that is change all of us.. You never totally recover from childhood trauma. Some fare better than others. Thank goodness Sinead found music as an outlet for her grief and suffering, if she didn’t have that, she may have gone even sooner, after everything she experienced as a child. It’s so important to show love and kindness to kids for you never know what’s going on at home! I hope she found some love and happiness during her life, at least from her kids, if no one else. This world can be a cruel place, particularly so if you don’t get the love and support that you need at the start from your family. R.I.P Sinead.❤️

I´ve been listening to Sinéad´s music and watching all kinds of interviews and live performances that I hadn´t seen before for a week now. However only now on seeing her grave it hit me deep that she´s really gone. I am surprised to see quite a simple grave, in between other graves, nothing extravagant, and very humble. It´s like despite her having been one of the most famous people from Ireland, she´s now united with others, just like another daughter of Ireland. 🥲

I had the honour of seeing Sinaead O'Conner support INXS in 1987, and no one seemed to know her, I was 17yrs old and blown away... I rushed out and bought "Lion and the Cobra" from "Our Price" in the UK on CD.....I can't say I agreed with all her poilitics all the time, as that is personal..... Life was hard, and hard every where else if you were poor, yes life was tough especially for women, no contraceptive, large families, that was the same in every country , at least the majority of men didn’t have to a fight a World War in the 30s and 40s, saying that my Dads father my Grand dad fought in the First World War in Africa for the British it was his choice and survived, all my Irish relatives had hard ship and sibling loss unfortunately that was the same everywhere, saying that they all had Wonderful childhoods dad was one of 9 children and was poor he left Ireland at 12 and moved to the Uk with his older sister the Roman Catholic Church has always been their for me for the good times and bad,how far to you expect the Irish to go back for a grievance 500 years, the late Queen shook hands with Sinn Fein,40 years after her cousin was killed by the IRA, remember the massacres from the past, but move on I think there’s about 12 million UK population with Irish Heritage, my father in law was from 6 mile cross on the boarder, his family packed up in the 1940s and come to the UK for better life. my mother in law is from Cork again didn’t have much her and her sisters came to the Uk for work in the 50s,

It is extremely sad that the men in the corridors of power in Dublin's government quarters do not understand or appreciate the special position Sinead O'Connor holds around the world as a cultural icon and as a freedom fighter for the voiceless worldwide. The state of Ireland should have elevated her to a state treasure and a natural resource, which for us in the third world is inexplicable, which we do not understand at all. I dreamed a few days ago. I saw her in a very good place. Serene. She was like 30-40yrs old, she looked so good, smile. She wore something like a long kaftan dress and a scarf. She saw me and hugged me. I'm so glad she finally did belong to where she supposed. Serene and peaceful
