Just got it and let me tell you one thing, this thing is a gem of a speaker. Having used several branded speakers, I can guarantee you this thing easily beats many expensive branded speakers. The spatial audio is just a game changer and absolutely not a gimmick like I used to think. Having had very low expectations from sound core, i am continuously trying different music to enjoy this thing every minute. Wow what a sound! You will not regret one bit.

I like all sorts, but find listening to classical music the best way of telling if it's a good speaker or not, if it can deliver orchestral music with all it's detail, range in a neutral fashion it usually sounds great with other types of music. A pity this wasn't addressed.
I do the same thing when I’m auditioning speakers. If it can play complicated classical songs then it’s my choice. Thanks for pointing this out. I’m glad I’m not the only one.

You lost all credibility when you said you always have the Bass Up feature on. The fact is that speaker is tuned to have a very sharp bass roll off so putting the Bass Up feature on just compensates for something that corrects the bass tuning that Soundcore have deliberately rolled off. I have their Space 45Q headphones which has the same controls and the Bass Up feature just sounds goddamn awful..It completely takes over the soundstage masking upper bass and midrange frequencies and is best left alone. Using the equaliser is far better at increasing bass than the abomination of Bass Up, it doesn't do Soundcore any favours and just demonstrates that the Chinese have yet to grasp the concept of HiFi sound and it's just a case of 'never mind the quality feel the width'!!!

Dont know if its your recording setup but the high end is completely over the top and piercing. It sounds like the tweeter is playing at least 2-3 db more than it should and has a transient nature like bad metal dome tweeters have , meaning it sounds like a hihat woodpecker is drilling your eardrum . Other than that the other half of the reproduction area sounds fine

@@ampstudios Your headphones have a dip in the mids as far as I remember seeing frequency plot measurements of them when I was picking headphones which means they will probably have a laid back and forgiving midrange. I am listening through studio monitors that have an aprox. 0.5 db tollerance from 60-20.000 hz . Meaning they are as flat as they get and not forgiving at all. I will write about the recorded sound in this video that is trying to illustrate the speaker. The recorded sound here had a successive upper midrange and a successive high end. In order to check it twice I analyzed the audio on a spectrum analyzer and saw the bump in the mids and high end that I expected and also used izotope`s Tonal Balance control 2 to have a "virtual second opinion" in case my hearing is off cause I am tired. The tool verified my observation that the higher mids are through the roof and the high end on the upper limit of being balanced to the rest. The low end was weak, way below balanced , which is normal for a room recording of a Bluetooth speaker and the lower mids where also very weak. Tonal Balance Control 2 is not the solution to everything but if you learn how to read it it is worth solid gold . You can do all those tests by yourself by the way. Just run the audio through an analyzer So if a recording like this has so much high end I conclude that either A) the recording setup has caused this and sounds bad B) The speaker sounds bad in itself. The Video Op asked "how do you find it"? and I simply answered honestly. To your suggestion, I have enough speakers. But if I wanted to buy a new one then this video would not have sufficed in order to convince me of its quality. That's all. So lets agree to disagree and call it a day

@ThibautMahringer Жыл бұрын
For the first question, size of the drivers. The drivers in this are tiny, they are not designed for 20hz rendering, and therefore they do not extend that low. Second question : 40khz is a marketing gimmick. I'm sure it doesn't even reach 20khz, as most speakers struggle above 15khz. But even if it could reach 40khz, to you it wouldn't make even the slightest difference.
