I have these installed on my 2016 M4. I believe the LED door lights were dimmer back in 2016, so the results are less dramatic in older M3s and M4s. Also since the M4 has longer doors, the door light strip curves down at one end. You must slide the new trim piece down into the curve, then press the rest into place. Not a big difference, but just conveying my installation experience with an F82.

My only concern is that since they just wedge in between the plastic and leather, eventually it seems like with enough door closes, they'll come lose and tend to fall out. who knows. I have the Sakhir Orange full leather interior in my M3 and stick with the “classic” lighting as the colors compliment each other. I also prefer the factory look. To me ambient lighting is supposed to be subtle, not distracting.

Tommy L Garage yeah Mercedes really took the ambient lighting to the next level and now all the manufacturers are following suit. I think it is a trend that will eventually subside. The number of ambient lighting color combos a vehicle offers is not even on my car buying checklist.

Not bad but a good EXTRA TIP would be if you only have the sports or classic light colour as options would be to spray these strips only on the inside (so as to get a neat professional finish) any colour tint you like EG- blue or green and when you install them and select white as your light choice it will glow blue. Mind you this will only have the doors matching

Like if your BMW doesn't have any LED lights on the door... I have an E82 thats Sedona Red, the orange light or something closer to my car color would look nice. I already switched all my other lights from halogen to LED. Uses less energy so u don't drain battery with door open & the sharper color is much better looking.
