Just a tip, you should play the same art for omniscience because it's possible for the opponent to gain extra information from that. It happens with cards that makes you discard at random after he already say a omni, and another think it could happen is the combination of your brainstorm 2 different art omni 2 thoughtsize/misha's bouble and some luck. Very slim situation but it's worth mention it

You should run a second masterminds acquisition in the sideboard, as well as a Scholar of the Ages to get both of them back from the graveyard and guarantee a win.
@omrithopter
@omrithopter 8 ай бұрын
As I mentioned in the video, I really don’t think that having the guaranteed win is necessary, an atraxa, dig, or assemble is basically 100% to win, and masterminds is a really bad draw when you don’t have Omni in play

Whats the general gameplan for the mirror?
@omrithopter
@omrithopter 7 ай бұрын
Game one you just want to have more bornes when Omnis comes into play, game 2 is all about Krosan grip, you want to be the first to be able to cast grip and there’s a lot of maneuvering around that (e.g. putting in atraxa instead of Omni, then holding priority and going for grip before the opponent can get down a second Omni
@rubeshere

Isn't stifle just better than borne upon? Gives you flexibility to also counter fetch lands, opposing atraxa, etc, etc.
@omrithopter
@omrithopter 8 ай бұрын
Borne is really important in the mirror because with it you get to be the first to abuse Omni, if that weren't the case then there might be an argument for stifle (I had a couple in the deck during an early iteration)
@rubeshere
@rubeshere 8 ай бұрын
@@omrithopter but opponent would need instant speed abuse for it to make a difference. I don't think any mirrors have a way to win with Omni at instant speed, do they? We are mostly concerned with them stealing it, no?
@omrithopter
@omrithopter 8 ай бұрын
@@rubeshere In the mirror, both players have borne, and whoever resolves theirs first will be able to go off first regardless of who's turn it is, most S&T decks, mine included, win with Approach of the Second Sun, which works at instant speed. Picture this scenario: you cast S&T, both players put in Omni, you cast an Atraxa, your opponent responds with Borne Upon the Wind into their own Atraxa into Masterminds for Approach, casts Approach, then finds it again with a Dig and casts it again for game.
@rubeshere

@@omrithopter so counter the atraxa ability in this case (with one less mana, which is quite relevant). But don't forget you can set back so many decks with stifle. It's also a time walk/land destruction in one in many cases. Also, I've played this deck a bunch now and haven't run into borne in the mirror (I'm not quite to mythic yet this season, though). I did run into leyline of anticipation, though and did lose because of it (once). But I also won three games after opponent scooped because of turn 1 stifle. And stifled agent's etb in one game to stop their meta-breaking synergy. Oh and one game it stopped the one ring from protecting them to win with an attacking Atraxa. How often are you seeing the mirror? And how do you even get the extra two mana to make this relevant? Seems like turn 4/5 is generally far too late, no? I think it's pretty good sideboard tech, btw. But even out of the sideboard, are you getting to turn 4/5?
@omrithopter
@omrithopter 8 ай бұрын
@@rubeshere The mana isn't relevant in this case because both players have an Omni in play when you're casting Borne (though if you have 2 spare mana, which you often do in the mirror going for S&T early is very risky, it's a little better to cast the Borne before S&T). Stifle only works in that scenario if they have Atraxa and nothing else, and Stifle doesn't let you win on your opponent's turn, plus, Borne cycles. Also, if Stifle's primary function is protecting Omni, then Borne still seems better since the mana cost doesn't matter with Omni in play, and drawing a card can be very relevant. Plus, alongside drawing a card borne has some extra utility because it can let you draw step Thoughtseize or play around counters, Stifle is sometimes completely dead. I'm shocked you haven't seen borne in the mirror, I saw it in most of the mirrors I played, though I was in mythic for most of my matches, and I see the mirror about 20% of the time. There's not much more I can say to convince you, but Borne is really important in the mirror, almost as much as Krosan Grip, I'd highly recommend giving it a shot.

Does the guide include a bo1 version ?
@omrithopter
@omrithopter 8 ай бұрын
No but that's the kind of question you could ask me and I'd give you an in-depth response if you subbed. Off the top, I don't think that I'd change the maindeck at all, as for the sideboard I'd run silver bullets for mastermind's acquisition. Second sun obv, then probably something like a grafdigger's, needle, krosan grip, a wrath, a removal spell, a 1 mana bounce spell maybe ephara's dispersal
