The audio of my voice gets a bit quiet towards the end. Also, the encounters at the start can get foggy. I started the file as a run of Sweltering Sun, but I converted it to Photonic Sun since the game was too hard. So throughout the video, I make a couple mistakes with keeping track of my encounters. For example, in the SS run, a Spearow died. Then in the PS run, an actual valid Spearow died, but it still had the sprite of the SS Spearow. So when I dug through the files to remove all the sprite changes, I didn't keep track that the PS Spearow had died, I thought I never had one. And so I caught another to be used in the Dexio and Guzma fights later on which shouldn't be there. So some encounters I had when I shouldn't have, and others I should have when I didn't. It overall balances out though so it's chill

I'm glad to see someone covering Photonic Sun in a playthrough. As someone who already finds the difficulty of USUM quite appealing, Photonic Sun truly takes it to the next level. I really hope more KZbinrs cover this ROM Hack as it is severely underrated. In the future, I'd also like to see you take a look at Crowned Sword and Armored Shield. It's one of the only ROM hacks I've seen for Sword and Shield and it would be awesome to see people cover it. It even updates the teams of trainers in the Isle of Armor and Crown Tundra DLCs while also having them be available before you become the champion.

Fun fact: Emergency Exit doesn't work in totem battles. I don't remember if it's intended or a bug. I just know that I lost my Golisopod to Totem-Mimikyu.

Is there a damage calculator or a list of all the route trainers in this game? (I know there is one of the most important ones but I would need to know if there is one with all of them). Because after the Togedemaru test it has a very tough difficulty increase. Thank you!

Damn i wish we could find a premade calculator for this rom hack like most rom hack have cause in this one, you honestly would need to prepare for every fight towards mid-game onward those trainers are fierce and because i couldnt prepare for every fight aside boss ones ( and even then some infos are missing like nature or how evs are spread) i had to downgrade from hardcore nuzlocke to regular one with healing otherwise i would leave everyfight with a body bag. Brutal!

I hope someone makes a hack of Gen 7 but they only give it a Skip Cutscene button and do nothing else to it and it becomes 1) standardized for speedruns 2) pokétuber nuzlocking bc i feel like people would run gen 7 more if Game Freak gave this single cool life hack

The creator actually addressed this, it is as of now, impossible to do it as they stated that every time they tried to do something to enable cutscene skipping, the game would simply crash

Genuinely this is prob the best hack, sure some changes may destroy niche strats but you arent pvping, the happiness hax evens out the field for weird things too. Only really struggled at guzma's big fight and not knowing what totem mon it was so my lead was bad and i got swept sometimes, annoying but not really my fault playing blind.

Yeah, I thought I caught a timburr already, but that was in Sweltering Sun, so when I swapped over, I was like Do we have that already? Everyone was like yeah back at Hau'oli city, so I moved on as if its a dupe. So that's another place where I midcounted my encounter. But chat also didn't want me to have more fighting types because they thought the hawlucha was rigged.

This I will not do. I actually started the file as an Attempt of Sweltering Sun and got to Hau'oli city, but the game is SO changed that it's not fun to keep track of.

I will say one thing: why do all of the ROM hacks have to be _specifically_ difficulty hacks for USUM? I want one that just adds some extra content or Pokémon, w/o me having to die even more than I already do normally. I get that it’s the whole “nothing good comes for free” thing, but I don’t get that. Also, idc if ppl say skill issue, I know I suck, and I still have the same right to complain or be frustrated as you do. It just means my opinions may have _less_ weight than yours. TL;DR: Where are the Vanilla+/Added Pokémon ROM hacks that come without added difficulty? I don’t, *and haven’t,* seen any for USUM, and that sucks.
