Unless I can’t understand something, the bug with dark doing more damage to steel is with the damage calculator, not the game. The game has been updated to use Gen 6+ type matchups, but the calculator still thinks this is Gen 5 logic where steel resists dark, meaning it predicts less than what the game is programmed to do.

This romhack seems like a decent alternative to Redux thanks to its easier early game. I always felt like Redux's early game was way too difficult considering the low amount of encounters.

Imho Redux is a great RomHack, but it's not a Nuzlocke hack. Although it has a revised balance and it has some great tools, it follows for a large part the OG BlazeBlack/Volt White 2, who were enhancing hacks not particularly focused on balance, made with the assumption that you could just overlevel and beat whatever roadblock you find on the way (Which is how everyone played the game back when the hack was created)

I agree it’s not a better game. It just sometimes gets too grindy. Theres no variation or uniqueness to the game with mechanics or everything. But that’s the name of the game for a nuzlocke. After having played this game it’s very obvious this game is not made for fun, strictly for nuzlocking. And that means it has to be the difficulty that’s increased. A unique game mechanic would be nice, but the game has to prioritize difficulty.

Feels like these romhacks are only catered to a very small number of people who want to make the game as stressful as possible. A new player to the pokemon games will never enjoy a romhack, but I guess casual fans never usually go looking for romhacks. They'll just buy the original games. Shame really, since I'm with you in that I'd prefer a slightly harder variation to some of the games like X/Y which were too easy, but the serious difficulty challenges should be post-game content specifically

This game feels like a nice alternative to redux. A lot of pokemon have similar changes and the level caps are almost identical. I think it’s just a matter of which game you prefer to play. After playing both, personally I’m more partial to Redux challenge mode but both games were very fun to play

I’m sure you can play it normally, although the level curve is probably steep unless you rare candy your mons. Forced Nuzlocke mechanics sound very hard to implement in Gen 5.

What do you mean? So far as a very easy to use calc that has trainer mons built in, no. Only the very high profile games like EK/R&B/RadRed(?) have stuff like that. You can calc for this game, you just have to adjust for stat buffs manually using the default showdown calc. Enemy team has a Lanturn, you put in Lanturn then go to the docs to see what stats are changed. If you mean actual documentation, then yeah it's got it, it's shown in the video lol. For calcing in gen 5, EVs are always 0 and natures are... incredibly sketch. I'm nuzlocking BB2 Redux atm, the hack creator swears natures in gen 5 aren't possible to edit onto trainers, and I've gone 7 gyms without fighting a single mon that didn't have 31 IVs 0 EVs in speed, so I assumed all natures were neutral, only as of Gym 8 I've fought multiple trainers with seemingly suboptimal, random natures (timid on a physical attacker, random shit like mild and quiet, very few of the actual good ones). Kinda feel like the natures are just random and uneditable, so gl playing around them.
