Now there are permanent streaks across the glass for 3 years. Those streaks get worse the longer time passes too. Every glass coating product I've used does this. They also tend to fog up the windshield a lot easier from outside moisture when you have your AC on. Honestly I hate these products and it took me a long time to finally realize that you can get pretty much the same results from wiping any kind of regular car wax on the window then wiping off. It works great without the streaks or fogging up either. Glass coating for the car body is a different story though. Some of the 5+ year ones from Japanese companies are really good.

@mrdetailing9406 Жыл бұрын
I agree on the streaks, even tho, i did not try this product in particular, but from what i've tested - all of them, silicone/fluorine based glass coatings, makes those streaks and they are visible, especially when driving in night time and if its raining and you hit your wipers right when the car is passing you, the light shows those streaks very well, after a little while, the streaks become more noticeable even on normal conditions.. I guess thats the price we got to pay

Why can't they just manufacture glass with hydrophobic properties so we do not have to use a product?

@crxdelsolsir4 жыл бұрын
They do. First time I have noticed it was on a 90's Honda DelSol. I then noticed it on other 90's Honda. The catch is you only see it on ORIGINAL Honda factory fitted glass (if replaced it will no longer bead or be tiny beads). Also it must be only be a fully imported Honda (meant for Japanese Market) a real JDM. Other Honda made in other countries may have locally supplied components that are not hydrophobic. Not sure if newer Honda's made in Japan are like this still as I doubt people even noticed this at all. In fact almost all Glass repairers see glass as glass and surprised when I tell then NO they are not and water behaves differently on original HONDA glass.

People would still come up with something to improvise it. Take for example the car paint. These days all good cars comes with a very good quality paint. I've quit doing windshield with these kind of products, it usually a bit hazey the first month or two after applying it when the wipers go over it, and when it starts to deteriorate after a half a year or so it's often worse than when nothing was ever put on it.. Great for the side windows though
@amzarnacht67104 жыл бұрын
Important question: How long does it last. RainX, for example, is stripped from the glass after about 10 minutes of wiper use. If the wipers are not used it lasts weeks or more, with a spot sweep from the wipers after raining starts to remove build up (dust and gunk) from the surface. How do these 'ceramic' (LOL!) coatings stand up to the wipers?

I would say I wipe a new topcoat on every 5-6 months on my daily driver. I have not seen any wiper chatter with GlassParency.

It's good but i do this.. clay bar the windshield next mix a good amount of rain x with your favorite wax and apply. Let dry completely and buff it off. Boom! Most Hydrophobic windshield ever for a quarter the price and takes little time and lasts 10 weeks before I need to reapply

Hey Guys! This isn't the only way to get water beading characteristics on your glass. We have a few different glass coatings including rain x that we have been using on a daily basis for the past 16+yrs. This just happens to be our favorite for the past two years on especially windshields. The majority of our customers do not have the time to apply Rain X every 1-2 months and rely on us the detailers to provide what we prefer and then maintain for them throughout the years. If we see the car on a monthly or bi monthly basis we typically will use our Stoner Clean & Repel. Our way and products are not the only way. Please feel free to share what you like to use on the windshields and hopefully in the end we can learn from each other. Thank you so much for your support & for watching the vid! Chad

@beebop98082 жыл бұрын
Rain X washer fluid is definitely a plus. It doesn't replace the Rain X base product but sometimes you just get gunk on the windshield and the fluid does a good job of getting it off. And no other fluid that I'm aware of provides any kind of sheeting action for water. Rain X does. If you've been slack about maintaining your regular application, 3 to 4 months and find yourself in a rain storm, the fluid will get you out of a pinch.

Use rainx washer fluid same thing nothing different

The problem with rain X is that it doesn't last. After the first rain, you notice a big decrease in beading ability.

Sorry about the Music Kelly! Still working on figuring out the best music to play that's not copywritten that suites everyone's ear needs. Its a huge struggle. Working on getting better music or getting rid of music all together in future vids since no one seems to like any of the stuff I currently pay to use.

Pristine Auto Detailing I know what you mean. My motor cycle club had to pay a lot of money because of music in a video. I did Enjoy your work

Is it a prerequisite that you tube channels must use the crappiest music available?
@PristineAutoDetailing5 жыл бұрын
Haha I guess so! Currently paying $20 a month for music and selection still isn't too good. I am working on it... sorry about that Bill!

@PristineAutoDetailing5 жыл бұрын
gary harutyunyan Definitely if that’s what ya prefer! I would tend to lean more to a cleaner and repellent vs wax if your looking to spend less than $5. Glassparency isn’t for everyone but is great for the majority of drivers that don’t have time to maintain the vehicle like yourself and me. 👍🏻👍🏻

8 steps to clean a window that might last a couple months sure

No doubt! Not for everyone that's for sure. It was worth the $12.50 for the price of the kit imo

Go drive out in the rain with the nasty road spray hitting windshield from other cars .. all that crap and wipers going won’t last long
@PristineAutoDetailing5 жыл бұрын
Your absolutely right it wont last forever but it has lasted longer than other glass coatings we have applied. The 3 yr warranty includes free maintenance that usually takes place every 3 months on a heavily used vehicle.
@debergiacwhite44015 жыл бұрын
Bruh... that's too many steps.. I can't !
@PristineAutoDetailing5 жыл бұрын
Most new glass we just clean and coat. Take on average 3-5 mins. On old glass that's in bad condition like mine in the video it may take 10-15 min. Its worth the 3-10 min on average. Everything is longer in vids since trolls tend to point out anything they dont like about the video. Appreciate ya watching and truly take your comment/feedback to heart and work on bettering myself and making videos way shorter. Thanks buddy! Chad
@debergiacwhite44015 жыл бұрын
I hear ya on the trolls bruh.. and I'm just looking for something that's more of a 2 step process.. wash the car.. dry it off.. spray a solution on.. & wipe it off. But good luck and much success in the future.

What kind maintenance is required?
@PristineAutoDetailing5 жыл бұрын
Generally they come back every 3-6 months and Glassparency has a maintenance spray and wipe product that gets applied.
