Nah, this is pretty good. Shotguns were absolute braindeath in the entirety of Chapter 5, especially in Season 1 with the Frenzy. We're at a point where Pump is rewarding good aim/positioning again, and clowns are crying that their spam is falling off. That's how it should be. If anything, Auto and Sword should have even less damage. Make positioning matter a ton again in this game. We're moving in a good direction rn, we'll see what happens next week

Nah because honestly, spammy shotguns were annoying. I remember crashing out on one guy who had the Mythic Auto while I had the Mythic Pump and he was so annoying that I 2-tapped him with a quickscope into a pump shot. Chapter 5 would’ve been so much fun if the pump was buffed just to overshadow the spammy guns.

Yea they all kinda feel weird & I feel like the Oni definitely needs bit of a buff for what it is. Hell even the auto could get buffed decently & still probably be pretty mid but atm that thing feels pathetic.

My only change on this is carrying the sword in the shotgun slot. With how weak the shotguns are, the sword is a far superior item in close range. And it doubles as the second mobility. In the additional spot I’ve been carrying bunkers for end game. Sword, Holo AR, Bunks, Heals, Void Mask

I actually got better results using the scoped ar and a smg rather a shotgun. Until they buff the shotguns I actually think it's a valid choice, saw some comp players do it too.

Can't agree fully on the shotguns. The oni and auto shotgun are underwhelming, but the sentinel is pretty amazing and about what you'd expect from a pump. It does slightly less damage than the standard pump, but I don't think that's making it weak enough for people to not consider it a very solid option at the very least. I want to like the oni shotgun but it's pitiful. For comparison, the most damage the oni will do on a headshot is 120 while the sentinel pump can do up to 195. The ONLY thing it has going for it is crazy range, but when the damage is less than 2/3 what the sentinel pump is, I just see no real reason to use it other than early game where people may not have as much shields.

I agree I also think we’re going to get some balance changes in the near future. The AR/smg hitscan is wild right now haha. I think having those legendary slurp juices in chapter 4 helped alleviate the amount of damage you could take in a short amount of time

the headshot damage multiplier is absurdly low, if compared to the ranger shotgun, headshots are NOT rewarding at all with the oni shotgun

Holo Twister AR, Veiled Precision SMG, shield pots, water sprite, and shockwaves/Void Mask/Blade depending on whether I'm using a vehicle for movement or not.

I've also come to realize today, that the precision SMG is fast, accurate, easy to control, but the damage is actually really weak. And yeah I agree about the shield fish being plentiful. However, I had no idea I could fish in any water. I was still fishing where I seen fishes.

For solos I run the same load out but if I am playing with friends then I will swap one of my movement items for the precision smg. For me, it is really nice having an extra gun if I am fighting more than one player.

For me, the Ar's and smg's absolutely outshine the shotguns in every way. I find myself using the twister, a fury ar or the precision smg, shields, sword and the void mask or shocks.

Well since the kitana is so OP as close fight weapon and also decent mobility I use that combined with shocks and some shield and AR +veiled precision SMG / or some shotgun.

Sentinel Pump + sword is a powerful combo. It's not easy to perform but if you jump with the sword between pump shots close range you become super hard to track.

In team game modes especially, I feel like shotguns are useless. Ill just use Precision smg and sword combo with the Twisted AR. Also, if you dont have double mobility, bunkers are clutch with all the spray weapons that can beam from anywhere on the map.

Twist AR is a no brainer but I still prefer the AUTO Shotty as my aim is poor. The Katana is being used a lot because it has mobility and is a very effective close range weapon so it kills two birds so to speak. I find I need two heals with all the long range AR fights so carry shield fish and med fish if i can find them. A purple pistol is also a good replacement for the shotty, it really fires off the rounds quickly.

I need an inside my mind video, I don’t know if it’s just me but when I get sprayed I die n when I be hittin people I needa empty the clip n sometimes my opponent still alive. The damage I receive compared to the damage I be hittin is crazy this season. Don’t get me wrong if I completely miss the shots that’s a whole other thing but when I be straight up beamin em n them not dying is crazy, when I run away full health I usually end up dead.

im surprised you think the shotguns are underwhelming right now. after having the displeasure of experiencing the hammer pump for as long as we did, i welcome a better version of it. the only things the hammer pump does better than the sentinel is having two more shots, and a slightly higher headshot multiplier (the sentinel ends up doing more headshot damage anyway because of its higher base damage profile lmao)

@@dominiccucchi4928 yeah, i know what he's saying, i got lost in comparing the two guns so my original point got murky. i think the sentinel pump is just straight up good. as far as pumps go, its not that much different from other pumps that the community collectively considers to be good (excluding an outlier or two that had one stat or another juiced up, like the sharp tooth having insane range)

Would you consider making a video just about the void mask? I don’t know why but I keep having issues with it. Where I fire a void ball, start fighting, and then try to use it to escape and... nothing. I just die because for one reason or another it just doesn't teleport me half the time. And it's not a cooldown issue, as these are the first attempts. Is there a time limit? Like do the balls only stay around for a few seconds? Or maybe a distance limit? I'm sick of throwing games because of this

Think Ill modify my earlier answer and most of time not using shotgun until Kitana is nerfed. Far and medium range AR. Medium and close range precision smg and close range Kitana. Just had my first solo win and used the Kitana in every close battle since everyone else using it against me and Im not even close to win with shotgun. Earlier I could use gatekeeper or auto frenzy to beat the hades chain , turtle mythics , chainsaw but theese new shotguns doesnt have the capacity to do that. Combined with shocks and some shield is my loadout right now.

Dynamic has definitely shifted, which I think is mostly more accurate. AR should do more damage. It was silly last season you shoot someone 20 times and they don't die. Yet one shotgun hit and your dead. Made no sense at all. Unfortunately the SMG damage is woeful. That little suppressed red dot SMG is great ... except the damage sux and you will almost lose a dog fight with it. Gold or Legendary might be the only saving grace for it. Agree completely about the unscoped guns, they're pointless. EPIC just seems to add weapons that aren't worth picking up.

Can you explain how charges work? Am I mistaken or if you pickup a new mask to refresh your used one, you get the same charges you have left in your current one? Some people say that you can recharge it with kills, but it doesn't seem to be true.

I liked the pump but it feels a bit off. Ik it's a skill thing like i don't tend to hit as many big shots like id do a regular pump. Overall it feels somewgat balanced the shotguns. I like the hollow twisted but i don't like the sight i prefer the 1.15

Shotguns for zero build are very weird to use for me, sentinel is very good but pump shotguns don't fuction well in zero build because they are very slow, oni shotgun are the worst weapon in zero build and the new shotgun don't do damage, I don't know why fortnite do a variant for drum shotgun and not for tactic, tacs variants are more fun to use.

Holo Twister AR is slightly worse in damage and nearly identical in fire rate to the twin mag AR. They never nerfed the twin mag AR so I'd be surprised if they nerfed the Holo Twister AR

I feel like the average players movement is just way better than the average players aim, like say 50% of the player base has legit good movement only 25% has legit good aim, I unfortunately do not have the stick skills to keep up the aim anymore, I can keep up just fine hit ask me to hit a headshot while flying through the air, not gonna happen

A good loadout is using the ONI with the Katana, Katana gives the enough mobility to reload during a fight, also the pump hits harder in very close ranges but the oni does the same damage on longer distance, so for me the ONI is the most consistent shotgun this season, i agree that shotguns feel really nerfed when theyre supposed to be high damage, hope all shotties get a buff.

This is my loadout -> Auto Shotty (Sentinel Pump or Surgefire SMG) / Twister AR / Shocks / Bunkers / Heals Some games i dont feel like a shotgun is even needed. Also I get the NPCs to replenish my shocks. I would use the mask but bunkers have been a must have for me for many seasons.
