I love watching DGR. Also, "Bloody Tears" is my favorite song in a video game of all time. While those 2 things are true, somehow DGR has forever ruined "Bloody Tears" for me, as now every time I hear it, instead of just enjoying it I'll be singing "bloody tears, bloody tears, bloody tears" over and over.

I still have my childhood copy of Pagemaster for Sega Genesis (or Mega Drive here in Europe) that I play from time to time. Pretty good platformer that gets progressively more difficult, that has one theme and one enemy (the Grim Reaper) that still give me nightmares 20 years later. Never managed to 100% it but I hope to do this before I hit 30 years of age. Not much time left though haha

I takes practice, but find a gimmick, be that a specific enemy type, an item quirk, or whatever, and try to build a level around that. You'll eventually get better, just don't start incorporating enemy spam or traps into your levels, because that's usually how you end up with bad levels.

@@caruspoon5289 I find that it's easiest if you don't aim for a specific difficulty as well. When you play through try to make sure it's a decent challenge but not too difficult as to make it frustrating. If you can, get someone else to play through it, as you know the level layout, they don't. Also, if you're making a really long level, don't give it a clear condition. Clear conditions, due to being incompatible with checkpoints, are best used on short gimmick levels. Beyond that, there's plenty of videos that go over other little tips and skills that make your levels play and look much better.
